No, because he's not unemployed. He's still contracted as a watch party streamer for RRQ, and still active participating in other events with Riot. He'll get more money from that than an academy team salary.
You need to practice hard still in an academy team, and the salary is just not worth it for someone at his age with a name as big as his.
We also need to consider that RRQ might not want to sign an older player, since the point of an academy team in the first place is to nurture young talents. They don't need Flip in the team even if he's good because there's no long term advantage for that.
Splash is a really reat pick by RRQ. While Jemkin is great, but they really need is a great IGL, but sadly there's a lack of great IGL from Pacific. So i think it's better for them to get an import IGL like kristal instead of an import duelist since we have so many insane duelist in Indo let alone Pacific already.
He should be old enough for tier 1 next year right?
