i don't understand why people are glazing ns so much it reminds me of people having bleed top 5 pacific. not saying they're bad, but people are acting like nongshim are locked for apac top 4 even though they barely won ascension. if boom won the last two ot rounds, you can't convince me people would glaze boom as hard

imo francis is pretty good, persia is excellent, margaret and ivy are both alright, dambi is fine but heavily overrated

Ascension winners will always receive some terms of glaze

It might just be recency bias

bleed during pacfiic league wasnt even the roster that won ascension

yeah, but with the changes some people had bleed in top 5 apac. all i'm saying is that you can't really see if teams are good enough if they don't play t1 teams, and ns haven't. but people are putting them over other teams that are looking good rn

bcoz pros like boaster and many other teams have been saying that SPG destroy them in scrims

in scrims

yes , in scrims . how else are tier1 teams able to access spg strength ?

#23

dude this is the same reasoning as the ge fans who were going crazy on scrims results initially and then they lost to Noas and boom in their off-season event scrims can never be a good perimeter to access how a team will perform in LAN events and they barely won against boom in the finals

yeah ok ... im just saying that boaster and other tier1 pros said that they were good in scrims ... thats all im saying ... argue with boaster not me... idgaf abour spg

boom had an unusually good performance at the grand finals. SPG was much, much better, coming out of an insanely competitive KR scene. just wait and see.

I would've hated this year's Pacific Ascension grand final had it not been for BME pushing to Map 5. The one thing I hate about Valorant Esports is a team sweeping a match.

B00m fluked their way to OT. They don't deserve the t1 spot

I'd argue that MITH deserved to go to Tier 1 had it not been for FS being FS 😭😭😭😭😭

i will never understand why they make an ascension qualifier for th when they can just take the winner of split 2

saying as it changes anything lmaooo. boom were still grand finalists, cry harder. bleed CEO probably should've had some more braincells if he didn't want to be an open slot

They got cleared by a Premier team and are lucky Riot gifted them that spot.

Isn't that the whole point of Premier.?????????

to find the next generation of talents???????????

btw kr has never been dominant in tier 2 so spg winning it all is insane

It's because Korea is a highly competitive region with insane amounts of talent, and adding to that there is not many teams that could've made a flawless run to the finals.

34-8 map record, 15-0 match winning streak, and coming off fresh as a Premier team (after failing VERY closely in Split 1). The core was touted as Korea's future last year under Gwangju Shadow/Shadow Corporation/Team OGS, and people who knows it was just a matter of time. Added veteran presence like Persia and margaret and the perfect meta (dambi is a Neon merchant but he's actually decent at other duelists too, check his Split 2 stats beyond Neon). They were tested, but never faltered.

I don't expect them to be absolute world beaters (despite my pickems saying otherwise), but I expect them to be decently competitive.

ever since the iteration of the bleed roster that won ascension came together, they only dropped one game. i don't think dropping one game and dropping none is that different. personally, i didn't know about the core being well known, i heard more about names like free1ng, stew, yoman, etc even though i did hear persia getting thrown around a lot too. i also think that margaret is just okay as a sentinel player, and i don't know enough about francis to determine how good of an igl he is compared to other t1 teams.

again, this post wasn't about whether or not they would be okay in t1, though. i think they will be fine, all i'm saying is that people have them overhyped in tier lists and pickems

that's not all you said though. your logic to arrive at that conclusion was exclusively reserved to the ascension grand final, which was clearly wrong. the only valid reasons to doubt NS are one, that they are untested against t1 teams; and two, that dambi will possibly perform worse with the neon nerfs. these are both extremely valid for your part, but without actual matchup history against the best teams we can't judge much (all we have is them destroying t2).

no... that's not the logic i had. i thought ns were overrated, not that they were bad. i only mentioned the ascension final because of how close it was and to contrast the amount of glazing ns is getting to how much i would assume boom would get i they had won the finals. i have other reasons for doubting spg—for example, i think their macro is just alright and margaret specifically looks weaker compared to other players. dambi also is a player that would be significantly impacted by the neon nerfs, just like spike

it was only close because of the crowd, keep up bud and korean talent is on the come up, people have been saying this since 2023. The announcement of franchise completely unlocked koreas potential.

I do agree that some are probably jumping the gun (such as myself) but I specifically mentioned the core bc only a few people knew that the core absolutely ran through KR ranked at the time they got into Challengers last year

Both them and the original iteration of SLT eSports in 2023 (which ironically had Sungmin as their coach) were filled with young hopefuls from the KR scene

And the difference between Ascension BLEED and Pacific BLEED is the fact both nephh and Juicy couldn't make it after Ascension and had to be replaced (potentially ruined their cohesion), while SPG/NS so far retained all 5 members of their roster.

Most people were only saying BLEED top 5 because they had yay

ok tbf bleed was getting hella glaze solely bc of yay and sscary, but mostly yay. we've moved on from big names = results cough cough vit cough and spg/ns dont have any big names (unless they mid season sign saya + zest that would be dope)

even though they barely won ascension

I think u forgot the part where this this team is LITERALLY UNDEFEATED since Persia joined. Also for the record this team haven't lost a game since January 2024.

Dude hasn't watched ascension or VCL korea to say that, SPG didn't drop a game since they persia came in that roster in May or earlier , they showed proper fundamentals and aims of a T1 team , they stomped almost every team they faced and only reason why it went to 5 map against bme is simply cause it was their home ground with chants full of bme support, and boom always play like demons on their home ground, the reason why u believe spg won't be good is because of bleed since bleed played too good in ascension as well but tbh that time valo hadn't developed that much in all the regions for bleed to be that good

#27

even so, do you think this team will be better than t1, prx, drx, geng, etc especially with some teams looking quite good recently (dfm, global?) all i'm saying is they may be undefeated since jan but they also have never faced a true tier1 team

#33

Better than those, I am not sure abt that but, it definitely can go close head to head against those teams

I love the fact they cook weird shit up and make it work. I’m not saying they are top 4 confirmed I’m just saying that I would love to see them qualify for atleast 1 international event to see how their stuff works against different regions
