Who were the best players at anchoring sites this year?

Imo some of the candidates are probably benjyfishy, Alfajer, yetujey, Meteor, Karon, Cryo (when he's on smokes), leaf, tex, CHICHOO and Smoggy

Most overrated player, also he plays for stats.

Just watch a random round of Team Liquid, you will see he stays on the site even the opponents entering to the other site & planting. Basically he does not try to help his teammates in those type of rounds or does not try to clutch, he just saves the gun every time.

nats has the second most first contact on his team
Saves round 8 after 3 teammates die on retake (was with his team)
Liquid call a timeout round 10 and now its 4a and nats B, his team dies and then he dies to spike
Round 11, 4a and nats b. His whole team is dead before heretics is on site, nats dies attempting to clutch
round 12. 3a, 1 spawn, nats B. 3 teammates die in main, nats and jamppi equalise 2v2, and then they both lose

look bro, nats was far from good this year but if 4 people cant hold 1 site after the coach calls the strat, theres only so much he can do

He is the IGL and he calls the strats.

He calls their teammates to fight and die on the site so he can get some kills of low hp enemies at the end of the round.

You can check the assist numbers of his teammates. And check Nats' assist number.

ah yes, liquid call a timeout and change up their strat is a call by nats and not eMIL??? like coach > igl in decisions man
also how is nats supposed to have high assists if he is SOLO HOLDING 2/3 of the map? again if you have 4 people on site and you cant kill atleast 3, what is nats meant to do? 1v5 every single round?

There was a point during the first split I was 100% convinced Benjyfishy was getting 3 every time they went to his site I haven't gotten that feeling that strong with any of the other player this year. That being said ti was specifically during that split and not so much during the whole year

Yep, I think the map pool changes hurt him.
That split A site is one of the few sites in the game where bunkering up and anchoring felt strong.
For most other sites, playing for a pick and then retaking was better.
