Duelist less prominent in 2025

I have this strange "feeling" that the duelist role might become less "prominent" during the upcoming season and other roles will make the team shine or not. Too long people have praised the arising and downfall of duelist players and all the shenanigans but I think we're in a era where the other roles will become way more "impactful" than the current "duelist" fragging meta.

Hard disagree. We had double controller and double initiator metas for a long time and now is the first time Riot is actually making duelists other than Jett and Raze viable. Neon is meta, we have seen some Iso and Yoru and Phoenix is getting a buff. Reyna won't ever see pro play.

Reyna's already seen a good amount of pro play on icebox tho? wdym never

but no I 100% agree with the rest, with all the changes double duelist is highly possible, especially considering we've already seen it's viability on maps like haven with the fnatic comp

I'm sorry but for the life of me I cant remember who played reyna on haven 😭 I just checked and Reyna was never played on haven in champs or stage 2 (or if she did vlr just says 0%)
was it earlier or was is T2?

I think it's the opposite actually
I would go as far as to say we might be seeing some more double duelist in fact

I agree in the sense that teams no longer need to rely on having one particularly cracked player on a dive duelist role where they need to get entry picks, often multikills, in order for the team to secure rounds. I believe we're past that point and that people on different roles can have equal fragging power depending on the agent

However I disagree in the sense that duelists are becoming "less prominent" in the game. I actually believe this is the opposite of the truth, as more and more of the game's duelists are being considered for the utility that they provide, such as Yoru with his information and fake potential, and that the duelist role is becoming much more diversified at the highest levels

I think you're staring into 2022 not 2025
