i built my pc in 2020 and I have a Ryzen 7 3700 x. I dont know if the Ryzen 5 3600 is still a good cpu but it was a really good cost effective one that was compatible with the b450 chipset

sold out most places or price is increased, is 5700x3d worth it, does the x3d give similar benefits?

x3d means it has more cache which gives better gaming performance but upgrading in am4 is not worth it maybe

with your current specs dont bother upgrading your cpu unless you're willing to upgrade your motherboard to an am5 board and new ram. going from the 5600x to the 5800x just isnt it worth it anymore, and the 3d cachae from the 5800x3d is useless in most fps games. Edit- valorant benefits from extrra l3 cache, but even so I wouldnt upgrade

It depends on what cpu you want, if youre getting a standard cpu 7000 series then youd want to get an x670 series because those are best for overclocking, but for x3d chips since you wont be overclocking and at most undervolting, a b650m would be just fine, i recommened either the steel legend or aorus.

For ram just anything 6000mhz-cl30 and preferably 2x16. corsair vengeance works just fine.

reddit is the best place for part shopping and whats good/what isnt

You have to change everything since there's nothing to upgrade to in AM4 cpu sockets lol might as well just build a new PC

how much fps are you aiming for? my ryzen 5600 runs around 300 consistently

is that a worth it upgrade from 5600x? would it be more worth to upgrade my mobo and ram to get off am4?

well if you upgrade to am5 that's basically building a new system no? which is fine considering the 7k and 9k series chips of amd

the best hardware only gets you to maybe 400 fps. Game is shit

if you dont throw your b450 to trash your only choice is 5700x3d

Why is this in 'Off-topic' when it's connected to VALORANT?

Next step realistically is AM5 platform. CPU + Mobo upgrade basically

if u live in a state with microcenter try picking up a mobo + cpu + ram combo, they're very cheap and well worth the money
