From now on, can we only use "Superteam" if they have all 4-5 players on a roster that are STAR players?

STAR players, like players who are/were at one point well respected in the game because they are/were great in the eyes of majority of the people.

For ex. Demon1, FNS, S0m, Jawgemo, Aspas, Zekken, Less, Alfajer, Leo etc.

C0m isn't because majority of the people know he doesn't hold that value, yet.
Yay is still a star player, although he has had rough years but still a star to many fans.

Keep it simple you know?

"star player" and "superteam" don't mean shit other than just those players being subjectively good, and a lot of the time it's that they were good on a specific team with specific chemistry and strats that they no longer have.

Is EDG a superteam? Is 2023 EG? What about 2022 LOUD? Because they definitely weren't considered as such until they actually won things, and now their players are in high demand.

Exactly, hence the great players are considered star players. You just proved your point. But I just insist atleast 4-5 star players for a "superteam" since rosters change over time.

But my point is that the real "superteams" (i.e. the ones that win it all) are rarely called superteams until they win things.

They're usually just any other competitive team that grinds their way up and fixes their issues over time. They're not a random lineup of "star players" from each role assembled at the start of the year.

I think the context most vlr users use for "superteams" are teams that are formed from a mix of already accomplished-star players.

Am I missing anyone? Also, Trent could return back to his Ascension form where he looked like a Radiant Smurf in a Diamond lobby. Think G2 would be the 2025 version of prime FNC if that happens.

Edit: Now that I think about it, these are more like regional favorites instead of “super” teams that are guaranteed to take multiple trophies. Valorant has never had a true super team.

Defining a star player is difficult
whats the metric?

Achievement? Pretty inaccurate overall
Stats? Very inaccurate
Eye test? Heavily subjective and will only have arguments the more in the middle a player is
What about igls? are they measured differently? For example boaster and fns are known to be great igls but frag terribly. (if you say both are star players, how about the IGLS who we dont know how much they help the team? what happens?

so overall I say no to this proposal

Yeah it is difficult. Since everyone can be subjective in their own way. I guess just popular vote of majority of people who think the player is worthy of high value and respected in the game. Not all trophy winners are that high tier level like other star players either. FNS and Saadhak were once called the best IGL's in the world so they are star players, but Boaster haha I'm not sure either. It's tough.
