Just a note: when you say "south of NA," you're saying it's TO the south of North America, which means you're wrong in this instance. Betrayed by your own wording. Ironic.

so would you call mexico as Central NA?

Central North America? I mean... I guess... not sure why you ever would though, tbh. At this point it's just ridiculous.

What I'm really saying is you said "south of NA" instead of "south NA," which negated your entire point

Geographically speaking it actually is

SOUTH North America
Mexico is at the south of north America
USA is Central North America
Canada is North North America

If you assume that's what he meant, which it wasn't, then the original message of the thread doesn't make sense. But yes Ig you can see it that way

Nope. Canada/USA/Mexico are the upper part of North America—North North America, if you will—with South North America actually being Central America (everything between Guatemala and Panama) and the Carribean (everything between the Bahamas and Trinidad and Tobago).

People often forget North America isn't only three countries. But it's not. It's 23 countries, even when you take out all the external territories in the Caribbean.

Well, the problem is that in LATAM countries, we're taught that America is divided into three: North, being Canada, USA and Mexico, South (the same as you are being taught), and Central, which is inbetween them. IDK why they do that tho, but at the end of the day, those are different ways to see continents (America is seen as one) and its subdivisions

The way I learned it, North America is divided into three regions: Central America (sometimes including Mexico, depending on the source), the Caribbean, and Northern America (which is actually the name the United Nations uses for Canada + USA + Mexico, though sometimes with Mexico left out... again, depending on the source).

Dude, do you not understand the concept of region? Mexico exists within north America, but it is South IN North America, it's a second classification, did none of you learn geography???
