I know that these esports have existed for a while, but are they still popular as in do a lot of people still watch it nowadays or popular but not many people watching it anymore? I remember watching these esports iirc around 2016-2017 where coldzera was one of the best players in csgo for eg.

its pretty much goes like this :

  1. League of Legends
  2. CS2
  3. Valorant
  4. Apex Legends
  5. Fortnite
  6. Rainbow 6 Siege
  7. Dota 2
  8. Street Fighter & Tekken 8
  9. FIFA
  10. Call of Duty

Valorant is above CS2 in viewership and players, especially because of the console launch\

And Fortnite under Apex is a troll

are you sure about that? might wanna double check that

That's only based on Esports livestream viewership, but a non-VCT Tarik stream has more viewership than the entire category of CS when there's no matches

ohh for sure! i wont argue that cuz CS pros rarely stream πŸ˜‚

i might be wrong but i guess watch parties are already aprt of that number

yeah but you're not counting vct content outside of twitch

analysis videos, reuploads of watch parties, clips, vct content... valorant competitive gets a lot more of viewers

You are wrong. Escharts counts live viewers from many platforms, including twitch, youtube, kick (lmao) and it goes on... and it counts everything that is related with the match, so watch parties are included.
They don't count only the chinese platforms since they don't make the number of viewers public, so we only can "assume" the chinese viewers.

And either way, like you said, watch parties its what "carries" the valorant esports viewership, so maybe take in consideration that many people are just watching the streamer and not really the match.

Hope I helped!

you are right escharts includes every platform except chinese ones . the watch party thing is just wrong those streamers only get viewers when they watchparty . Also cs has same number of watchaparties now as valorant from ohnepixel to gaules to bunch of other russian streamer , u are just delusional but thats expected of hltv fan

I know there's nothing we can do , but I feel like adding "if we add china" in almost anything feels like cheating 🀣🀣

it does feel like it but it isnt like league is the biggest esport in world without china, with china its bigger than all other esports on this list combined

dude you dont understand how insane china CS community is... there's a reason why CS hosting the next major in china

they been begging for nearly a CENTURY for a major host LMAO

i constantly check viewership of cs and val esports events on chinese platforms its not even close between val and cs, and the gap is widening. Also league is more than 10 times bigger than val . The only thing about cs in china is skin community thats it and most of them are ignorant silvers who dont know shit about esports

#19

you can't check viewership tho on CN platform... that's the issue

they are using some kind of "heat" bullshit that i don't understand

#20

u cant check it if u compare heat to CCV but you can compare heat to heat

iem chendgu arena had 12k seats . masters shanghai had 17k but yeah it was great considering no chinese teams made it to either arenas

fortnite shouldnt even be on the top 10 list dude. EWC had like 2K viewers for the entire thing. Besides fn isnt an esports, its just too shit of a game to be one

street fighter is above tekken and kinda has been for a long while now

even though tekken had a great launch and brought in so many players street fighter is going wild in japan and on average, street fighter always pulls higher numbers of participants at every event they both are involved with

plus cs2 at an esport level rn is incredibly dry imo but thats just my opinion, i miss the astralis era

#34

Tekken is Dominated by Pakistan & Korean player base

meanwhile SF6 been dominated by Japan & USA player base since like the 2000s

its not surprising honestly

#35

the main reason for viewership for tekken imo was that it didnt catch on in america like it did pretty much everywhere else

and the other reason is that its much harder to understand whats happening from someone who doesnt play the game often and at a semi-medium level

europe is bigger with tekken as well but the viewership doesnt really come from europe like it does from usa, japan and korea because of all the different languages, people prefer to play than watch etc.

I knew dota 2 was the highest on prize pool but the difference is just absurd. 324 MILLION? The closest that comes close is cs and that is half the value

#18
FDWC-

Frags

not surprising considering every dota 2 tier 1 tournaments prizepool is around 3-5 MIL

#22

Val doing the same thing with the champs skins just it don’t get added to the prize pool but goes to every team. Dota gets the high prize pool because they raise funds from fans.

Current TI is miserable cus valve decided it wanted to make money alone with the current "Grindfest Battlepass"

#30
IonlywatchvcjXD

Frags

Correct me for this, but I heard the reason why the battlepass is shit because the pros got too arrogant thinking they are the reason why people buy battlepass not the skins, so valve said "bet" and released basically nothing just to prove a point to the pros 🀣

#38

yup, they did something similar last year

#24

Check this prizepool, valve only gave 1.6 mil, the rest is "crowd funded" from battlepass (25% of the income from battlepass purchases, in-battlepass purchases).

yeah but salaries in league are like next level . League has almost become like a sport where prize pool of a tournament dont matter its the salaries including the ingame shit that better as thats guaranteed . Also dota crowdfunds prize pool for TIs . I think its safe to say if LOL did that they would reach 324 million in like 2 worlds events
