Deadlock is placed in place of other agent like breach or Kayo and thus should provide far more value than them either individually or combined for it to be a worthy pick.
- Without the kayo or breach u are left witha singular omen paranoia and no flash for retakes.The absence of the two flashes completely takes away any aggresive play that u might want to make on the defence side to take extra site mains space.
- The kayo and breach are both initiators and thus can provide easy info about enemies without u having to take unnecessary risks by extra peaking for info.
- The kayo and breach ults are massive in themselves that can help u massively in 5 v5 retakes as well as stopping the opponent executions of a site solely by your own. While the deadlock ult hardly kills a single guy and u can beat use it to stall time as even if a person gets caught if u shoot enough he may easily get out.
- The kayo molly and the breach Aftershock are excellent while holding post plants setup as well as to clear off angles and force opponent away from an angle. ( While the deadlock nade is utterly useless, I saw John using it on karon and three people pushed on him and he one tapped all of them with the sheriff, we could easily argue that atleast Karon would have died by the util or by the players when the other two utils are used.

Edit: It works for Levitatan cause mazino knows to play deadlock way better in out than John and also I think aspas awping is also a very big solution there as he gets easy kills when opponent comes to break the barrier
