CS players call s1mple the goat with 1 major and even before he won a major
because it's plain to anyone with eyes that no one comes close individually in the server
same goes for aspas
yeah they said it in the broadcast at least.
EDIT: nvm, seangares said it https://x.com/seangares/status/1815199668831449427
he didn't have a peak as high as them but he's been more consistent than the majority of the people on that list and if you average out the stats he'd be above them + most of the people on that list are there from 2022 and 2021 aside from the fnatic players who were dominating in 2023. 2022 was aspas' rookie year, it's much harder to get these stats now (even demon1 who arguably had the highest peak in the game is near the bottom of the list)
You don't become the goat because you're consistently good, you become the goat by being the best for quite a long stretch of time. Faker or S1mple or flash didn't become the goat because they were just good but cuz they dominated the ENTIRE competition for a good amount of time. Aspas on the other hand has not even come close to doing that let alone doing it for multiple years. Aspas has longevity (the game is still fairly young so it's not the most impressive thing) but he doesn't have the peak. There have been way more impressive players than Aspas before
where are they now? being consistently top tier for 3 years is better than being the best itw for a few months
sure, aspas can't be compared to someone like s1mple of faker (no one can since the game hasn't had enough time) but he's the most qualified. if you think peak is all that matters then do you think yay is the goat of valorant? demon1 is the goat of valorant? if another player shows up and has a 1.3 rating for 2 years then I'll say they're better than aspas, but for now he's the best of all time
That's the problem with the "Aspas goat" narrative, y'all are too impatient. Y'all can't wait. He's one of the the best but he's far from the goat. He'll need atleast 5 more years to be in contention at the pace that his performing at.
Like the game is 4 yrs old and it's not like he dominated in those 4 years to the point that any player in the future won't be able to pass him. Within those 4 yrs when's the only time the he was considered THE BEST? The past 2 months or so. Do you know how ridiculous it is to call someone the goat when they've only really been considered as the best for 2 months? Yay had ONE AND A HALF YEAR of being THE undisputed best itw. Now I'm not saying yay is the goat but that's objectively more impressive. Not to mention Yay did it in international events while Aspas has yet to, despite being the "Best in the world" right now.
Let Aspas play out his prime and then wait for 3-5 more years. Y'all are just way too impatient and is just forcing the narrative to the point of even revisionizing history by saying "he's been the best for 3 years" or whatever
I don't know why this is debate. Aspas is clearly the best player who ever played Valorant and you are so dumb if you deny that fact. Only one player makes any opponent ran away from his spike site. Only one player are able to do plays like he does. Only one player can raise the bar of any team of the world, even when a comrade are in a slump. And this player is Erick Santos. Obviously all Leviatan players raised the level (even C0M got some improvements in his stats), Mazino made a great series, but Aspas is the main reason why Leviatan is, right now, a top 3 potencial in the Champions.
