Would they have been better off sticking with Marved and Demon1 to close out the year and then after the split getting S0M and FNS for next year?
did u watch his games
most of the time he outcalls the enemy team and it has a huge impact on the games
if he had better players that could actually shoot back instead of crashies and victor, he would qualify to champs with ease
hes underwhelming in terms of fragging but his calling pretty much makes up for it
Idk why do you think that comps were the problem
They clearly tried using these comps in scrims and did good with these and thats why they played it in official game
Probably just didnt utilise the comps properly or the players on the team didnt play well
Also making new comps and experementing is very important in general. NRG is not better than sen so they tried to win by trying out new comps
look at the comp and tell me what is nrg's main strength that WE all know is, vs the comps that they played (especially vs g2). If there's one thing we know about nrg's style and fns' style, is the slow, methodical mid-rounding masterclass. look at the comps they played vs g2, what does those comps tell you? fast-paced hit, with a lack of mid-round info gathering potential, which AREN'T their thing. Look at their ascent, as soon as they play a normal comp, they DOMINATE.
also this roster, while we're seeing the same name on the sheet, let's be honest, hasn't had the time to adapt to each other yet. also at this critical point of the season, with champions qualification on the line, experimenting and new comp doesn't sound wise.
they r trying to adapt because the current duelist meta is way more aggressive
they simply had to experiment and tried to catch a team like sen and g2 off guard(both teams are far better player wise, so I doubt that using normal comps would work)
also they didnt even play that bad tbh and looked somewhat good this season
the format is braindead anyways
i get the meta is favoured towards aggressive duelists but that doesn't mean they HAVE to play a completely different style of valorant compare to what they know. like the g2 game, i actually think it would have been A LOT closer if they played a normal-ish comp, instead of the yoru deadlock fade clove comp that is just lacking SO MUCH info, instead of the 2021 bind comp meta, that again, lacking SO MUCH info
i also don’t think only looking at stats is fair enough to decide whether a player is impressive or not, anyone with half a brain can see nrg improved tenfold when fns came in and single-handedly carried the attack half for any map, it doesn’t show up on the leaderboard but not all impact will, people keep suggesting to get 5 shooters but look at drx, they went from being top 3 pacific to being possible 6th by going all shooters route
getting more firepower won’t solve anything
