21 envy was good. 2nd at Berlin to prime GMB and y0y was the best player at the event (while on jett)

The first event was expected though. They dropped mummay for yay a few weeks before the quals

Nobody really knew how good of an igl fns was at the time. Marved had just joined recently as well and had looked mid on Faze

SEN was too dominant so it was obvious they would get a slot which only left 1 for the rest of the NA teams

As for champs, Acend 2-0d them but they had relatively close maps against the eventual winner.

Just because Envy bombed out of champs doesn't mean they were a "biggest failure". They very clearly stand out among this list, all the others were never close to winning something, while Envy got second. Also it's not like them not qualifying for the first event is a big deal, they have kaboose and mummay at that time, they weren't the same team as they were at Berlin.

how the fuck is 2023 sen not on here?

You had Zekken, Tenz, Sacy, pANcada, and an ok igl

that was a literal superteam at the time

many people already predicated that the roster gonna fail because of language issue and tenz being duelist being mid.

Still a superteam even if they had little prac, everyone knew of this trade months before it was announced

You could excuse sen 2022 imo they had a lot of problems
I would say sen 2023 is more of a failure

2023 sen is the one with them having problems not 2022 . 2022 sen literally just didn’t grind and adapt to the meta and when they did it was far too late

I mean sick was having problems and tenz was ill for some part of it and they played with shroud who has no pro experience in val

Probably gonna mention 2023 NaVi and Team Liquid. NaVi was a huge letdown as they failed to incorporate cned who was still pretty good for someone that missed a year of tier 1 play. On the other hand, TL had a fairly balanced and cracked roster that ended up being executed poorly. I mean- Sayf duelist was already enough, but everyone else on their proper roles as well.

Side Note : I'm down to agree that the team was probably still somewhat weak on paper, but at least from what I saw, a lot of people had high expectations for this roster and it ended up being a huge flop. Especially after the fact that they beat FNATIC and then ended up just being a major letdown in Champs.

EDIT - Oh and we're not gonna forget that god awful performance at Lock-In. That actually might be one of, if not the most, utterly disgusting and disappointing performances put on by a top tier team.
