It's just SCARZ that takes this route; if you see the rest of Japan's T2, there are legitimately great and legit domestic and imported talents that are playing.
Also at the same time, I won't stand for tixx and Yoshi erasure; don't blame the players for taking the opportunity, blame the orgs for letting it happen.
The first part of my comment is a joke. I already said it.
And I am blaming the org but the players are at fault too. Them not being good is technically not the org's fault. The only valid excuse can be communication issues. It still doesn't justify the crazy amount of individual mistakes they make per game. I also don't know what you mean by Yoshi and tixx erasure
I agree that we should not blame the players for grabbing the bag , I just find it incredibly scummy from the management for abusing the import quota. I mean last year was quite weird enough with 3 imports and now they're going to import 4 ? I agree with arin here jp scene won't get far if they still relies on import.
Absolutely, and like I said, thankfully it looks like SCARZ are using the import/residence quota to the limit. And like I also said, there are a lot of untapped talent hidden in the mid-T2 scene of Japan, both domestic and import. Once the regeneration comes and more players are being swapped out, I think it'll stabilize themselves.
Although I don't know if there'll be a day that Japan will rely 100% on domestic talent considering their proximity to the KR scene.
I'm not sure they're really zainichis ( cmiiw ) , either way , zainichi or not if they played in a server for a long time then to me that no longer counts as an import. I know thats probably not the right standard but that's kind of why I don't think yoshii is an import now , the same goes for lumo.
We have 1 jp ,2 half JP( both have documents of being JP citizens) , 2 imports. Just cuz on vlr gg our half JPs have their second half flags rn means we do 4 imports?
There is other team in the league with 1 half br, 1 half ph, 1 jp, 2 imports, no hate from people towards them tho. The only difference between us is language of comms and flags on vlr.
We got informed by admins very late at the end of september of 2023 that we cant play with 2 russians, so old roster decided to part their ways and i had to build roster in rush for RBHG.
SZ wanted me to stay the HC , i wanted to have eng speaking roster to be able to coach them. Its not impossible task. I have a list of ENG speaking japanese players , there are 27 eng speaking JP players. Unfortunately 90% of JP players and good imports in who i had interest ALREADY were signed by other orgs from mid-end summer of 2023 / other orgs didnt want to sell their players to us for any reason / my org denied and said we couldnt get the player cuz of his reputation risks/ buyout of some player is too high/ some were too young and cant play yet, or not radiants yet (we get some of them in our academy) /player want to play in other team and didnt join for this reason.
I had to scout hard and look in non obvious places to make competitive eng speaking roster with no comms issues in a very last moment.
Very familiar. And yes, it’s pretty much always been like this, from the days when we had Giants TH and KOI in the Spanish league is was already like this. Teams prioritized trying to win and the best way to do that was always through imports.
They implemented the 3 regional player rule eventually which made the league have more national talent for 2 splits until those players became regional and now the league is full of imports again.
It’s funny tho cause the league has lost a lot of it’s viewership which has costed orgs a lot of money. Many orgs left and the remaining ones have started to use more national players now just because it’s cheaper so idk what to tell you. That being said I literally root for KPI the most in the league, they’ve been around a long long time and ascended through our tier 3 circuit. Bisk and Insider have earned their right more than most Spanish players, so I don’t see why I wouldn’t support them
I think riot were not happy with a chance of team qualifying to tier 1 with "2 emea imports". Even though Far east russians cant really play on EU. From 2024 rule of having only 1 import from the other major region (EMEA/CN/Americas) works for both tier 1 and tier 2.
I understand the decision and i can see why it was made, so no complains on it, but on timing only. It was said too late in offseason and not even eng speaking jp, just almost no jp players with any tournament experience left, so we were forced to make roster with massive comms issues
