I just started getting some of his videos recommended to me on Youtube and watched some of them to hear a new perspective. Thought he made some good points but sometimes it feels like he insults the person he's talking about if he doesn't have a good counter-argument

he's a hypocrite

no one needs a 2.5 million dollar home, he bought it because he loves consumer America just as much as the rest of us

I'm not one to disrespect the hustle for those that can afford it, but it goes against the ideas he was pushing to get the working class to fund his millionaire lifestyle

insufferable loser and fake socialist

The top 0.1% richest in US hold 20,4% of the countries wealth. Capitalism isn't the way to go, also knocking the "hustle" point. There is no "hustle" they just screw over the working class by paying them 20% of what they actually deserve

Technically true, but I really don't want to hear about leftism from someone who very clearly doesn't believe what he's spouting.

How can someone so openly call out the 1% who drown in wealth while working people suffer to put food on the table while living such a slothful, gluttonous lifestyle?

It's like if Something started complaining about a player overpeeking. Yes, he could be right, but if he himself overpeeks more than anyone else in the game then why should I like him as a person, or trust that his words are coming out of actual gamesense and not just frustration?

In the case of Hasanabi why should I genuinely believe that he is going to do anything at all to help working people other than tell people pretty words and profit off their donations? If anything all he's done is give platforms to insanely problematic personalities in the political side of the internet like infrared, because no matter if they get dogged on in a debate, the sheer amount of views this guy gets means even if only a small percentage of them agree with the lunatic on the microphone, that lunatic will still gain a large following.

He is the textbook definition of a grifter, commercializing politics for his gain and nobody elses

"Talk about Socialism all day without doing a thing to help the cause; also live the most wasteful. gluttonous, and slothful lifestyle imaginable while doing so, that is how we will overcome class struggles--leave any actual political change that would affect you off to some arbitrary future" - Karl Marx, probably

The only argument you can make about Hasanabi is that he helps spread ideas of leftism by making them more mainstream.

But if that's really the case, then his image should be part of that. If your main mechanism for bringing change onto society is having a large audience to educate, then why should anyone trust someone who does not practice even a hint of moderation in his wealthy life to talk about how the poor are suffering? It only hurts his credibility when talking about left-wing politics, the only thing he's actually useful for

Not buying a 5 million dollar house for starters; I mean c'mon just buy a normal middle class house and people would understand.

you can buy a mansion for a 800k in some places, the guy actually bought himself a fucking palace

If you care about your brand as an ally of those same working people who, for the most part, are forced to pay rent every month for a roof over their head that they do not own, and who advocates strongly against rich landowners, the 1%

Then I don't think you should flaunt your wealth as if you were part of the 1%

ah yes that mirrors the famous Adam Smith quote, "to be even the slightest amount of pro-capitalist, you must work 24 hours a day every day to maximize your profit like a zombie"

the man has said multiple times that he's an entertainer, who also talks about politics. that's why nobody should look up to him as a political philosopher, but if his points get someone to read more into left-wing politics then his actions are good

#100
Nachtel

Frags

Ah yes just as proudhon said "if you want to win an argument, just take whatever the other guy said and strawman a version of it taken to the absolute extreme"

I'm not saying he should be begging for scraps like diogenes dude; he can live a comfortable life. I'm saying he shouldn't be flaunting his wealth and buying a fucking palace for himself while complaining about how wasteful capitalism is.

If his only worth is to be an entry way into leftist politics then I feel bad for whoever mightve been interested in learning more, saw this rich boy being a walking contradiction and got turned away.

What's more, I feel bad for the hundreds of people that began following the genocide-supporting infrared after Hasan gave him a platform--despite Infrared making an absolute mockery out of himself

I don't want to get into actual politics but my honest answer is you should never have more wealth than is required for you to retire and live the rest of your life comfortably.

For Hasan's case, I don't care that he's rich, I care about the way he presents his wealth. It's the way he brands himselfs then contradicts that same image he's trying to push by being your typical wasteful LA multi-millionaire streamer, that's what annoys me about him. That's what makes me think he doesn't really care about what he's saying at all, because if he did he'd at least put even a little effort into at least appearing (note, I said appearing not actually doing) like he lives a more modest life, and that's what cements him as a grifter in my mind

Exactly the kind of person he is. Inside he makes good points but for some reason blud has the ego as high as fucking space. Brother needs to always feel above others he talks to which makes him look like a fool. However that also attracts a lot of attention cause people love watching streams of fools. Hence his business model.

Yea I feel like this is good advice for any political commentator / news source. Don't just accept what people say blindly, use them as sources of information to allow yourself to come to your own beliefs on the matter. I agree with hasanabi on some things and disagree on others but his aura of negativity when talking down on other people kinda ruins it for me

hes a hypocrite. follow someone in real life, who's good words translate into his good actions. finished.

its rare that you will find a person like this in these days. follow a person who is exactly like he is with his wife, as he is with his employer, as he is with a needy person, as he is with his children, as he is with his parents. that is a truthful, honorable and dignified person.

common virtue signaler. Hes a good speaker and entertainer, I think he's funny, however, he should never be the center point of your political beliefs. He is well known for jumping to conclusions and omitting evidence to support his claims, and overall a hypocrite when it comes to how he behaves off stream. Very handsome tho

#25

How many times does he need to prove he is not just a "virtue-signaler" like you haters make him out to be. He donates to charity more than you do, especially since you're on vlr 24/7 i doubt you have a job to donate into a charity. Shut yo ass up!

#41

I never said people who donates to charity are socialist but atleast for hasan even if he spends millions on mansions he is still spreading the correct ideology and system while also helping people in the sidelines. You're just a hater and a bigot at this point if you still hate him after what he's done

#49
Cresp
1
Frags
+

I do agree with his ideology but he doesnt live in a humble way or act like a socialist really should. He goes on spending sprees, he acts like a dickhead and my biggest issue with him is that he isnt a respectful debater. He got in a huge argument with destiny because of how bad he treated his opponents in debates ( I think destiny is a huge weirdo btw much worse than hassan), but he is not a prime example of a good left leaning debater especially when he uses misinterpreted evidence to support claims.

Another thing that bothers me about him is his angry army of teenagers that do no research apart from watching his videos and become essentially pragmatic about socialism and social democracy. They also go around to people who are not even talking about politics but criticizing Hassan as a person and calling them bigot, which makes him just an insufferable loser with his fanbase of insufferable losers.
