Do you really think TenZ is the best player in the world right now? Answer honestly.

I see people from Brazil who maybe follow only the regional scene and the Masters say that TenZ is by far the best player in the world as if he were untouchable. I've been following TenZ since Valorant started when he was the main Viper and I enjoy watching his streams because he teaches a lot about the game, but do you really think he's the best? In my opinion no.

I can say that TenZ is perhaps the best Reyna in the world and has one of the best aims for sure, no doubt he is an excellent rifler and a good operator, but particularly when I watch him I don't see a "special glow" around his character as I saw when the best CSGO players in the world were top 1 (S1mple, Zywoo, Coldzera, Olofmeister), maybe if TenZ win Berlin and Los Angeles he would deserve to be considered the best of all for his achievements and maybe stats, but not for talent (imo), I don't think TenZ is that much better than Sick and Asuna for example, also cNed and Nats.

So what do you guys think about it?

I agree he is up there but not necesarrily better than the rest. I think a lot of his success stems from their opponents lack of confidence being matched up against him ( The TenZ effect), while he just consistently shows up.

Hard disagree. Valorant is a new game, and the player/viewer base isn't there yet, he is not one of the biggest players in eSports history. He may become one eventually, as Valorant grows, but it still is too soon. Now if we were talking about GodTN the BEST YORU world, 0% win rate 140 acs, then yeah, he is among the biggest AND GREATEST players in eSports history!

Bro why are you asking people on Vlr when pros are giving you answers. NA pros say he is the best player. Recently on an interview with upcomer Russ from SMB (the flare you use BTW) said he is the best player and Yinsu Collins pushed for Cned but he ignored her and said TenZ can play 3 different duelists extremely well. TenZ isn't just good, if he is having a good day, you're screwed but generally he is playing well enough for his team to win.

i appreciate that people want to have discussions about these things. i agree with everything you said, including me being a bit arrogant. but that wasn't the original point of my comment. i wasn't trying to encourage toxicity in the val community, nor was i trying to stop discussions from happening. i was just saying (almost in a sort of joking way, although if i say i was joking people will give me a hard time) that the community can be overly toxic sometimes. and yes, maybe my knight in shining armor comment was reminiscent of that point. but that's literally all i was trying to say.

It is really hard to make the argument that he is not the best player in the world.
He continues to perform excellently in all his games and during pressure too.
People had doubts if he would perform well on LAN and he completely proved them wrong. He might've even had the best performance of his career and that too it was on LAN.
So as of right now, with the data we have to us, he is definitely the best player we know of, or the best duelist player if you want to categorize it.

I agree that for his achievements and stats he deserves it, but he is part of a super team where his performance is strongly driven by the excellent supports he has, maybe the other players would have the same performance or even better if they played for Sentinels instead , but we'll never know

I dont think so, as a team Sentinels is perfectly balanced atm. Any change would affect them. I wouldn't discredit tenz for the support he has. But all 5 of sentinels has the pop off potential.

he already had the highest acs in almost if not all of the tournament he played before joining sen in c9. i know its hard to argue for stuff like this especially when the game and the comp scene is so young, but from what we all have seen now i think its safe to say he is the best until proven otherwise.

atm, he definitely is the best player in the world. He does the most crazy plays and have the ability to single handedly win some rounds (especially eco rounds with marshall and sheriffs). i wouldnt say he is the best jett in the world (as he is not the #1 opper ), but he is the best reyna in the world. But his rifle is extra-ordinary. under shaz leadership i can see him becoming the GOAT of valorant. We'll have to see how berlin and champions play out to confirm further.

You just don't watch cis, nats always has duelist acs while playing cypher and viper, and it has been like that for a year. Even zellsis got impressed with nats back when they were scrimming from Iceland and said that if Gambit dont win Berlin they are doing something wrong.

I think people consider Tenz as the best player in the world because he plays for the best team in the world atm and is their star fragger. He has one of the best aim in the world and is a top Reyna. He is neither the best Jett nor the best raze in his team itself. So I personally would not rate him as the best player in the world. He is a top player but not the best.

TenZ was considered the best in his region whilst he was on C9 so what you're saying is bull. People think Shazam is better at Jett because of what? His Icebox? He isn't the best player on split and go search TenZ all time stats on Jett vs Shahzam. TenZ is actually far more consistent on Jett Shaz plays on Texas ping. On Iceland TenZ had the highest stats as Jett, higher than Shaz.

It's hard to say who the best player in the world is right now because different roles play so differently, so its hard to compare a duelist with a player like nAts. I'd say TenZ is the best duelist rifler in the world and a solid oper, better than Asuna at both but I think cNed is way better than him at Jett and op.

C9 TenZ was the highlight TenZ with the aura that you described ( the same aura and fear that cNed now causes ) .. now he doesn't need to be that extreme type of carry. He has super clutch teammates and he just vibes out the matches and this is the same reason why Sick is slept on and why people rank shahz so low.... their stats are divided due to how good all 3 of them are and yet TenZ still has 280+ ACS.

valorant has such rigid and defined roles that it's hard to assess "best player" to the same degree that we can in csgo. but either way I agree that he hasn't shown any incredible level of dominance over other top tier players. when I watch s1mple or zywoo I think jesus, nobody in the game can even compare to these guys. when I watch tenz i'm incredibly impressed, but he still seems within the realm of other world class players

I 100% agree that tenz doesn't have the same auras that the other top 1s in csgo have. I can't deny that tenz is probably the most mechanically gifted player itw but i feel he is lacking either high iq plays or clutch situation because he knows he has a fullteam that could be capable of pulling them off, while in csgo you usually see top 1s be the core of the team. Meanwhile in sentinels you could pick anyone there as the core of the team

TenZ was that highlight player, like an ABX yay or a cNed before on C9, hitting insane clips and basically solo carrying his team. But now I think of him as the dev1ce of valorant. He's insanely consistent for his team and does his role in the team perfectly, but he doesn't go for those highlight clips as often anymore. He doesn't give you those insane deag aces every map, but in so many rounds he will get you the first blood, or the 2k that opens up the bomb site. That's his job and he does it incredibly well
