In the next 3 years, do you think CSGO will be "replaced" by Valorant as "main" esport FPS game?
Yes or no?
In the next 3 years, do you think CSGO will be "replaced" by Valorant as "main" esport FPS game?
Yes or no?
No, cs has stayed alive for more than a decade, what's 3 more years for a die hard fanbase.
The same question was asked on HLTV forum: https://www.hltv.org/forums/threads/2699018/will-valorant-take-over-csgo
nah csgo will stay as the major fps title for a long time to come unless valve decides to get involved and fuck it up
Counting with the game being released in China? Maybe
Without it? Nah, not yet
Hell naw! only misogynists play csgo that shit is dying along with andrew tate
Ok I'm sorry, I won't uwu mommy love you every woman I see on valorant
Listen here I got a bone to pick with you, you have no idea what you are talking about clueless minded sheep.
probably not if the production stays like this and they keep delaying the demo system
i mean it already did in NA and AS, probably will in SA. EU is probably gonna stay closer to CS in terms of pro play but casually val is beating cs in some countries already
i agree, one of the reason is because valorant easier to play or learn for casual but it is not easy to enjoy because of the smurf
valo is already bigger among casual players, the competitive scene is the actual challenge
Soon yes, but cant replaced EU CSGO
Val already dominated FPS scene in some Asia region ( JP, KR, SA, SEA ), NA, and Latam
Not in three years and if riot makes some good game choices then eventually yes I think
In three years riot will need to have released valorant 4 with the rate they're killing this game.
If you guys don't think that CSGO can stand the test of time, you're blind to what's happening with valorant the past year.
3 years and Valorant will be in the moon while cs:go stay popular, it will be like LOL and Dota 2
If everything stays as it is. Valorant will be dead and buried and CSGO will have the same numbers.
the only way they can take over is with really cool updates such as
proximity voice comms
abolish the rank system
create ability skins / customization
implement a sprint feature
demo review system
remove smurfing
denounce franchising
itβs that simple.
never in life will a crappy game (valorant) overtake the god of all games (cs)
they said that about dota and lol plus dota and cs has no father, there's no company behind, the players and fanbase carries this shit
dota isnt even the same game genre, and literally no1 with brains in cs community said that. delusional nerds that couldnt cope with fps games not being the most popular esport said that. valorant will still never be as big as cs, its ok to cope however u need tho
dota and lol isn't the same genre? you should stop smoking what you are smoking dude
so many angry cs frogs here, literally smells by hltv.org
actually Valorant already took over cs coz Valorant is the world wide game popular in EU, NA, JP, KR, other East Asia, BR, LATAM, Turkey and India.
cs is popular only in Scandinavian branch, irrelevant (poor) CIS region and Brazil. but Valorant will take over cs in Brazil too in a couple of years (1-2), Scandinavia and CIS are both irrelevant and not needed for RIOT
next time read thread
He mentioned ESPORT
Valorant won't overtake csgo in the next years for sure
Obviously Valorant is more friendly in casual gaming, because its a weeb game you can't deny it
Valorant will surpass cs in Esports too coz of bigger player base and new VCT partnership
you hltv dumbasses don't understand what RIOT is doing, they are making new LOL in fps genre
So you think the franchising will work? Bro LOL and Val has different playerbase, and different "culture".
Valorant player base is more expanded around the world, but do you know that RIGHT NOW IN THIS MOMENT, both games have around 750k players playing? EU cs is bigger, LATAM cs is bigger, and CIS cs is bigger. Other than that, Val is bigger.
But trust me, csgo Esports will prevail valorant esports for long time. Val esports are "hyped" because the pros doesn't even grind that much, and most of them are streaming and chilling. Thats why valorant isn't competitive as much as csgo
ok, only time will show who is right
and yes rito do the same things as in LOL and they will succeed
valorant rapidly grows in Brazil and LATAM due to KRU and LOUD results, cs player base are old mfs, valorant playerbase is much younger thats why it has better future - all kids play valo
valorant pro scene in 2023 will be very competitive
You know nothing about cs then.
If you think LOUD is the reason brazil will make BR val > Br csgo, you are wrong. You don't know how passionate brazilians are to csgo, just Gaules is a great name.
And yes, many kids play val, but casually. Val pro scene isn't that big to bring attencion. Plus, why would you grind hardly, to not enter t1 valorant? It's very unlikely. Tier 2 scene will die, and no one is willing to grind to be picked by a franchised org
Asia? YES
EU? NO
NA? Maybe in 5+ years.
SA? IDK
It's gonna differ by each region, so very difficult to get overall answer to your question.
Are you delusional or what? We aren't in year 2015 mate. Scandinavian countries have a big player base? Yes they have, but they aren't the top player base in EU
depends on the region but definitely not in EU or SA.
and how hard these diehard fans gatekeeping csgo.
In EU or Brazil maybe still need more time (it could be never bigger there). But in Asia and NA, Val is already bigger than CS...
The LAN international leagues thatβs filled with huge orgs should do wonders for growth.
I really doubt in 3 years Val still being popular. it might be some new game come in 3 years and replace both.
Depends if riot can once again capitalise on large chinese fanbase like they did for league. If they can then no doubt, in the west csgo will continue to be the biggest for a long while
