It's kinda annoying seeing people say "PRX/Fnatic is bad" or "DRX/100T/Leviatan is good" when not even 4 days ago most people were saying the opposite. These teams play 1-2 games and all of a sudden they're a top 4 or a bottom 4 team?
This isn't meant to discredit each individual team's performance, i think leviatan proved everybody wrong and counter-stratted Liquid and PRX, but to see everyone switch up so fast when Leviatan has always been a good team (only lost 12-14 and 15-17 to fnatic in Copenhagen) is crazy. Also, calling 2nd and 4th place at Copenhagen dogshit because of a few games in champs is so incorrect. People called 100T onliners and now that they beat fnatic they got a shit ton of praise. People kept calling DRX chokers and now that they beat 100T they're getting a shit ton of praise too. 1 game does not prove that a team is a top contender or not. Region match ups, strats, team chemistry, and mental fortitude all matter too.
I bet if XSET beats FPX tomorrow, most people on VLR would say XSET is a top 4 team or FPX is washed even though that couldn't be farther from the truth. Lucky games happen and unlucky games happen.
(LMAO THIS CAME TRUE)
P.S. I don't think this is me getting baited either. I've seen some respectable users on VLR fall for this recency bias too. I'm happy for the wins each team gets, but that doesn't automatically make them better than the team they beat. If you think a team is good/bad, great! Don't change your opinion solely based off of 1-2 games.
edit: thanks for 50 upvotes, i didn't know my opinion resonated so much with people. just to reiterate, if you're a fan of a team mentioned, i'm not criticizing the teams, only the viewers who praise/shit on them for 1 good/bad showing
