Everyone think CIS is a very good and underrated and will be as good as EU in EMEA qualifiers
But here is why I think its a little bit overrated
In Iceland qualifiers, Turkey had 3, EU had 4 And CIS only had 1 spot. Everyone had high expactations from Turkey because of the viewership and overhyped fans but 1 of the teams got destroyed, 1 of the teams got a map from liquid but then destroyed and eliminated, and the last underdog team (OXYGEN) actually won against 1st TR team and one of the EU teams (Guild Esports). But Liquid crashed them so everyone said they also performed awful like the other TR teams, and everyone forget they literally eliminated Guild. And everyone has low expectations from TR because of that.
But like I said, CIS only had 1 spot so only Gambit joined which is by far the best CIS team (not even debatable).
And they performed decent. Im saying decent because if you think Gambit did really well and Oxygen did bad, you are delusional. They both were 1 win away from Iceland.
Because of how Gambit performed, everyone has high expectations from CIS rn.
But lets think now, what if CIS had 3 spots and TR had 1 spot in first EMEA qualifiers? We all know other 2 CIS teams would get destroyed. And the team that qualified from TR would be FUT which is the team that performed worst in first EMEA qualifiers. In that scenario, everyone would have low expectations from TR and CIS except Gambit rn. So Gambit will still perform good imo, but 1 team doesnt make a whole region good. I think other 2 CIS teams wont achieve a lot and thats why I think CIS is overrated.
Unpopular opinion (CIS OVERRATED)
Yeah this is exactly what I meant by saying people are overrating CIS. Mostly people who has high expactations from Navi. Other CIS teams than Gambit will just dissapoint people with expactations just like TR teams im Iceland qualifiers imo. You are saying CIS teams will walk over TR but how many times have you watched those CIS teams except Gambit? Probably 0-1… people who had high expectations from TR in Iceland qualifiers also watched only 0-1 matches of TR teams.
Yes, exactly. You can argue if you like wasting your time, but your particular statement and subsequently the opinions around it are subjective(sprinkled in with hype from NA Reykjavik teams) as there is currently very little objective evidence around it to settle the matter. You can come back to this matter after the upcoming EMEA tournament, but right now it's all just speculation.
And besides, you must realise that there is very little you can do to change what the 0/8ters actually post until 2/4 TR teams qualify for Berlin. In that case it will be EU who is trash and TR > EMEA.
Well, your “pretty sure” opinion is wrong then. I am “pretty sure” most of the people who thinks TR is trash are saying thay because of how TR performed in Iceland qualifiers. And like I said, I am “pretty sure”. Also, those people dont even watch TR or CIS that much, they only look at scores and predict. And you are saying they will watch TR matches and analysis how they play? pffffft.
No, in no way TR is a trash region. You have a new super team that might go far or Oxygen can surprise and upset some big teams EZ. But it's totally normal to look back and compare results and results didn't look good for TR back then, probabilistically and realistically speaking. Meaning that TR team had some blow and it can be a double blow if they fail this time too. Nothing wrong in trying to succeed after a fail and lots of us actually want to see TR put some real fight, despite being from other countries.
Same could be said about CIS and their teams- - they are actually strong. Be it Forze or Singularity, it won't be a walk in park in EMEA's playoffs. They all had time to prepare some strats and study their opponents, so old Gambit might look quite new and crisp, right? Though, Gambit has a little choking history and, I hope they won't repeat that tendency in their upcoming matches.
Gambit is properly rated as a decently hyped team (to qualify for Berlin). Na'Vi on the other hand... They got rolled by Gambit, even though I do think they will make some noise maybe getting a win against a TR roster or maybe pulling an upset, they are not good enough yet to qualify for Berlin (imo).
