in what way? who says they dont want to play just due to them being female - theres no proof they could have just scrimmed. They are also prepping for lcq and time isnt something they can just throw out by playing a worser team, in this case the OG female roster. Would Kru want to play team liquid female right before lcq?
its just simply disrespectful, how your org is paying you to improve and use your time effectively, you wont see fpx scrimming g2 gozen or tier99 teams they wont learn nothing from and could beat them easily only because of the huge individual skill difference, you can see this in one of soulcas highlights where they are scrimming liquid female which are the best female team in south america and it was something like 12-0
IDK what to tell you but there are PLENTY of teams in the scrim discord group. Moreover gatekeeping just because of separate leagues is really stupid. They play the same game at the end of the day.
The whole point why Game Changers is far behind is because they don't play against men and only play against weaker female teams like them. Now you want to deny them the possibility to even scrim male teams?
Yes I don't find anything really sexist about the chat and I think Maru has the rights to decide which teams to scrim before LCQ but in the general scenario female teams SHOULD be allowed infact encouraged to scrim male teams.
I am not denying them the possibility to scrim male teams, they should scrim male teams around their level or a bit better, not fucking maru gaming, its just a loss of time, also I dont know how it is in asia but in europe we use pracc.com and there are a lot of different scrim groups and the one with the pro teams needs invitation to avoid dogshit teams getting in so they can asure that all the teams in the scrim group are quality practice, female top teams are in the open scrim group with other hundreds of random amateur male teams, they can scrim male teams but those on their level or similar, those male teams also would love to scrim vct teams but you will deny them that opportunity because they are not females? gamechangers is not far behind because females dont scrim male teams, they are far behind because there is 1 female in high elo for each 200 males, if females start to play videogames as much as men and take them seriously maybe then they will be good enough to scrim good male teams, there is a skillceiling, even if my team scrims fpx every day we wont be able to close the gap with them, same for female teams, even if they scrimmed vct teams they would get better to a certain extent but the gap wouldnt close simply because of difference in individual talent, I can scrim fpx 3 times a day but if suygetsu and shao come and click all my team heads faster than 99.99% players in the world then its pointless unless a fairy comes and gives me a wish so I can be as good as them
if females really want to be equal then they shouldnt accept special treatment even if they are paid to play, they are simply dogshit, they want to be treated the same as if they werent females? then go on amateur teams around their level scrim group and grind your way up, go play open tournaments with male teams instead of farming money in gamechangers
Are you braindead? Scrimming is not ranked.
You don't grind your way up in scrims. You scrim teams because you want to test set plays and maybe try strategies.
Sometimes teams want to scrim against bad teams so that they can test if their executes work or not. If they always scrimmed against good teams comparable to themselves they would never have a strat book. They would hide strats in scrims as well. They would never try and experiment with anything.
Do you not know why DRX never scrims against other Korean teams? I think PRX does not as well.
At the same time the weaker team has a chance to play against better individuals and get better against their strats.
First I thought you where just a generalizing idiot but now it seems you don't even know how these teams work and just braindead in general.
I am braindead? you seem to have no idea how shit works, competitive valorant is the same as ranked, you grind your way up, team from team and grinding scrims against teams on your level then if your team gets some results you will get better scrim partners or if you join a better team you will get better scrims, thats how it works
"Sometimes teams want to scrim against bad teams so that they can test if their executes work or not." Why are you even talking if you are ignorant? Their executes might work against bad teams but they want to test them against at least decent teams, not female teams which have the level of amateurs, even if they didnt use utility other than smokes their executes would work, ofc top teams scrim worse teams from time to time but those are tier2-tier3 teams who can still play the game and shoot back, LIKE WHY ARE YOU EVEN TALKING IF YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW IT WORKS? YOU PROBABLY ARE GOLD PLAYER OR YOU HAVE NEVER EVEN SCRIMMED AGAINST ANY DECENT TEAM OR PLAYED ANY TOURNAMENTS
All of that text just looks like you are trying to sound politically correct.
What if OG is quite good? If they were scrimming Maru then they might have scrimmed dozens of other SEA/KR/JP teams before as well? They never complained? Also, the girl clearly mentions that they scrimmed Maru before.
If OG was really bad in the first scrim then Maru could have denied wanting to scrim the the second time upfront. Instead they said yes and the breaking deal was realizing they are a female team.
It's just cringe how you automatically assume that a team should not even be in the scrim pool just because they are female.
Also, Asia does not have hundreds of teams where you can have different leagues like pracc. Korea for example only has 3-4 good teams and the rest are just amateur teams. Even among those, Maru lies on the lower end of the spectrum. Why do you think that you can compare the situation in Korea and EU?
"If OG was really bad in the first scrim then Maru could have denied wanting to scrim the the second time upfront. Instead they said yes and the breaking deal was realizing they are a female team."
BECAUSE THEY EXPECT THAT A TEAM THAT IS IN THEIR SCRIM GROUP IS GOOD? THEY PROBABLY JUST GOT INVITED BECAUSE OF POLITICAL CORRECTNESS, SAME AS BRAZILIANS TOP TEAMS SCRIMMING FEMALE TEAMS
true, I have played against decent european teams in scrims and I would say the team I was in we could beat any emea gc team yet I dont think any1 is my team would have said it would make sense for us to scrim vct teams even if we were better than gc teams, do they get to make a team lose their time and not face consequences because they are females? they even try to cancel them when its maru gaming the ones who lost time and were fucked by the situation, they just got a free scrim against a top team that male teams much better than them would pay to get
Lemme reframe this in another scenario, "I didn't know you were an Indian team". I think if we go into the earlier days of valorant with LATAM or Japan. People would be freaking out over this, but idk why people think this ain't sexist. Most likely just miscommunication and a mistake though as I said earlier
Sexist? Not enough information to make such a determination. Rude? Yeah.
Why is there not enough information to make the determination, that it's sexist?
Because Anaks never explicitly mentions, that the reason his team doesn't want to scrim with them is because they're women and women are inherently inferior. Rather he simply clarifies it's because they're a women's team in a women's league and they don't want to scrim teams from that league.
Why is denying a scrim with a women's team not sexist?
Because women's teams play in a league, that has a completely different skill level, orders of magnitude lower level. Due to this, the coach rightly so makes a determination, that they are not a good fit for a scrim partner based on that fact alone. With this interpretation, it has nothing to do with being women, just being from a lower skill league.
Now there is a possibility the above is not the case and that he simply doesn't for some reason want to scrim with women and doesn't want women to become more competitive(?). I find that unlikely, but nonetheless it's still a possibility.
Neither can be determined from the screenshot alone.
Now why is it rude?
The way it was delivered. He shouldn't have mentioned gender at all. Just like if there's an academy team and they want to scrim my team, I wouldn't tell that academy team "hah you're an academy team? no shot buddy, there's a reason why our leagues are separated".. It comes off as condescending.
And yes I recognize, that the example is not equivalent to what he said, it just seems like he delivered it poorly due to a poor grasp of the language.
