The real reason is partially that Riot want women to be able to compete more in standard tournaments, but also that the Academy teams often have direct links with the main roster (Poiz is a good example, was on main roster but was dropped) so they have a conflict of interest, whereas the women's teams don't usually share players. The goal of an academy roster is to eventually promote the talent that you hone in small events and scrims to the main roster down the line, which would also be an issue, because it would again create a conflict of interest and cause the academy roster to lose a member potentially mid-tournament where that member could then play against their former teammates/friends.
ngl it's annoying to see how much they gloat about winning Game Changers they just put down all the other women teams when everyone else when they win a match say gg's they played well, hope they enjoy playing the t2 and t1 mens valorant see if they think they are still all high and mighty after this qual
they been together for 2 years, as a team how much longer do you need before it's obvious some individuals aren't carrying the same weight as others on the team. or is the coaching staff that bad to the point where this team can't beat random t2 teams/pugs still. mel and katsumi are pretty cracked tho
