Erik "penny" Penny has announced his restricted free agency from Apeks Apeks Europe Rank #118 , becoming the final domino from the team's playing roster to explore options with a new team for 2026.

Like the rest of the Apeks roster, penny shared that his contract with the squad runs until October, but that he has been allowed by the organization to begin his search for a new team.

penny was a late addition to the Apeks roster, joining just a week before the team began play in EMEA Stage 2. Before arriving to fill the team's vacant Duelist role, penny had a short stint with Team Liquid Team Liquid Europe Rank #4 paTiTek Patryk Fabrowski nAts Ayaz Akhmetshin trexx Nikita Cherednichenko Keiko Georgio Sanassy kamo Kamil Frąckowiak . In a homecoming of sorts, the Canadian stepped in for the team's first match at Masters Toronto while in-game leader nAts dealt with visa issues. He also played one map in the team's following two matches, but departed following Liquid's elimination from the Swiss Stage.

penny is the final Apeks player to begin his search for a new team following Apeks' relegation from VCT. The team, after going 0-12 through Stage 1 and 2, must compete at the second level of competitive Valorant if it wishes to ascend to the VCT once again.

"My only goal is to win and create something special this year and I will relocate to anywhere in the world to achieve this," penny said.
