Reality of Indians

Indians are capable of playing in VCT. The truth is, they’re just not getting the opportunity. Of course, it would take them time to adapt—probably around two years or more.

Take Team Secret, for example. They’re also a Filipino team, and it took them years to improve and earn respect. DFM also struggled from the very beginning of their esports journey, but now they’ve gone from finishing at the bottom to reaching the playoffs.

Every team needs time to adapt to the environment, build team synergy, and grow together. The difference lies in the time it takes—teams that adapt faster they achieve success

how is a 2021 international appearance a good example of taking years to "improve and earn respect". Seems more like an example of getting worse while the rest of the region surpasses you

I believe the franchise slot was given to them (GE) because they represent whole South Asia (India, Pakistan, Bhutan, the Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, with Afghanistan).

I think they should try with players from these countries only, maybe 6th and coaching staff from different region.

Let the players speak their own language as a team like English or hindi, most players talk in mix of Hindi and English, whatever it is, don’t force any language onto them, coach has to adapt and help them if they lack somewhere. (See texture in English vs Korean, much much comfortable, also players can understand the coach in English while in timeouts but in game, their comfortable language is way to go !)

Playstyle makes the team, let them do what they have been doing and it will improve (just like prx).

And give them time and opportunity, GE’s CEO doesn’t even believe in the SA players so they don’t even get the chance to play, due to this newer players doesn’t even get motivation to come to this scene, I think it’s not about competitive integrity, it’s about exposure of SA region.

Doesn’t matter if they get 13-0ed, get them exposure, it may / may not improve but still it gets engagement (good/bad) but players will benefit and org will benefit, atleast the org won’t be called hypocrite, their performance with the best team yet is shit anyways lol, clearly their approach isn’t working.

In short: change the approach, make effort towards representation rather than importing the players and forcing them to follow some unknown framework which isn’t comfortable for them, and give them time, I believe fans will be patient if their people representing the team at global stage!

Cheers !

I kinda disagree with this one. What we lack is a gaming culture mainly due to societal non-acceptance of gaming as a career option. Having a decent pc plus internet is a privelege in itself. Then we have poor perception due to the infamous ‘forsaken instance’ that pushes away interested parties from investing in Indian scene. How can we expect spawning kaajak, zekken type talents in such scenario?

Just giving direct slot and hoping we improve with time is wishful thinking. And orgs aren’t here to make a region/ country proud. They are here to make money. Esports is a loss making business for most orgs. And people start support when you have results to show (SEN got immense popularity due to them winning the first intl tourney).

At this point we are already hated enough on the web to send a full indian roster to vct.

i think it's not too late for anything to represent the south asian community, i believe that they weren't even given chance to global stage due to gatekeeping from Franchise team.

See the example of DFM, they were at down bottom of the league with 5-9 japanese roster but eventually they figured it out right ? now they are doing fine, literally right behind the PRX in groups.

as i said above, if we get represents from SA, give them time then there's hope!

Otherwise, SA region is dead anyways lol.

from the financial point, lower base salary would be more than enough for any South Asian Player currently, may demand more if they play and win something.

so your point of company making money, doesn't make sense, they are literally losing money rn lol.

"We dont have representation in T1 so people dot tryhard" --> "What we lack is a gaming culture" Then... Gives a slot in T1 to Indian player ??
You wont create a gaming culture if you have no representation in T1 x)

"They are here to make money."
Then they should all leave esport, they are no money to do in esport, best you can do is doesnt loose money

We don't had good players because of esport not take as a career path in asia and mostly south asia. but now these kids play games than they play outside. probably some can have talent but there is no system for esport career building(probably only india have). I don't even think our local orgs(sl) paying decent for players. they only have players who studying or having other main job mostly. it's just like tier 2 some organizers of game event does not give even prize money. if some incredible talent pop off as rank demon or otherwise it is dream someone to play in tier 1 in south asia other than india

I think u must be joking if u are saying Indians are ready for tier 1 and ascension will prove it

I will argue VLT is the best team SA region can ever produce and I will be surprised if they have a deep run in the ascension SA region is far behind other regions there are some new insane players coming up but mostly it's the same old recycled players

#18

this. VLT only relied on individuals with damaraa and rossi even when playing against SA teams, they arent doing shit in ascension. The thing is, most indian players that can play in t1 ( a bit decently not too good ) are mainly duelists (azys, venka, nope not botssi) it just wouldnt work

"They are not getting enough opportunity"
GE had open trials this year and only 1 indian made it to the last phase but didn't get selected. I think we should stop with the narrative that indians don't get chances and accept that for now there just aren't good enough players in the region

It's just sad that in India the mindset towards gaming is not very welcoming....parents think that kids will ruin their lives in these fields and everything so idt any time soon GE will be making a full indian roster

indian players should get the spots, they just need to work on communication, aim, map awareness, crosshair placement, eco management, pistol aim, awp flicks, grenade spots, pop flashes, positioning, bomb plant positions, retake ability, spray, skills use, control and getting kills

If no Indian players in top 4 Ascension, then just shut up
