why do vegans who don't like meat and hate meat, make alternatives that look exactly like meat and taste like meat..

but I think it's not that they hate meat, they hate that you have to kill animals to eat meat

It's not that they don't like meat it's that they don't like the negative aspects of meat products like the animal abuse etc

because they like meat

on top of the other responses, it helps to ease the transition for newer vegans by having familiar flavors and textures

Yea as #6 says its for the transition.
People who have been vegan for years will rarely offer you some burger supplement when they invite you over for dinner. Theyll make normal food. They know enough recipes by now that they just dont need meat anymore.

Im not vegan but I will, by pure chance, often go a week+ without using meat when cooking for my flatmates and myself. Its cheaper and theres just SO MUCH food to make and choose from.

No ones gonna choose that horribly seasoned shit once they know how and what to properly cook. People who are so hung up on their meat that they actually NEED these supplements arent going to stick to being vegan. Its just not for them and thats fine.

There are plenty of reasons why someone might choose to be vegan. The most common ones are:

1. Avoiding harm to animals.
2. Following a meatless diet (sometimes due to allergies, religious beliefs, health issues or other personal reasons).

So, regardless of your question, some vegans want to "replicate" the taste of meat because they enjoy it but choose not to eat real meat due to their own reasons for being vegan to begin with. I also agree with the transition phase theory, it align

Many people here in India are vegetarians( only a portion of that may be called vegans) but more are non veg .
Vegetarians eat dairy products and some eat eggs ( eggitarians here we like to call em) and it's due to cultural and religion specific reasons which is very diverse in india .
Vegans are people who don't consume any animal products due to them not wanting animal killings and abuse.
