Most recent rito post literally said the same thing as the one from almost 2 years ago. This is insane.
ALoKi007 [#2]It's easy to play a game, but not to build one
What have they realistically BUILT over the last few years?
No real new gamemodes that take a lot of coding, agents don't take that much coding. No huge overhauls that take much coding.
The only thing they could've been working on at this scale is the UE5 port. It really is inexcusable taking so long, especially knowing they were already working on it while the game was being developed, so even before release

Well yeah you are right. It can also expose Valorant's netcode issues which might be the main problem riot is dealing. They only need some more time for this...

you understand different teams work releasing game modes and fixing the game and adding new features
loapoarg [#7]you understand different teams work releasing game modes and fixing the game and adding new features
Of course I understand that. So realistically, what would the team that is building the replay system be focusing on additionally? I can only imagine the UE5 port would take that kind of skill.
Any other element of the game would be solved by different teams. Nothing fundamental/infrastructure wise has been changed in the game in years
The only solution I can see is that the replay system will come in parallel with the UE5 port, as it may make no sense to custom build it in UE4 when they're going to port the game anyway
crocodilemaniac [#8]bro it's like gta 6. You want a well made replay system without any major bugs or flaws. Rushing it is pointless they may as well do it right so all the idiots like you won't keep biting their ass for releasing a trash replay system
games come out with a replay system in beta and you're justifying this 😭
darklord69 [#10]games come out with a replay system in beta and you're justifying this 😭
Yeah but those games are built from the ground up with a replay system in mind.
When Val released in beta, they made it clear they weren't gonna make a replay system. You can think of that what you want, but if you're gonna add a replay system later on, it will take a lot more work than building one when you're still developing the game.

Valorant's development began in 2015 and the first open beta was in 2020, there's no way they went 5 years without considering a replay feature for a competitive game.
Riot isn't making a replay System any time soon, Valorant is a cash grabber game where they launch a shitty skin and a broken Single character every 4 months and the entire comunity is satisfied.
There is no new gamemodes, the entire game are just a way for Ranked, and every hero shooter in the market have more content and is funnier to play than Valorant.
Well tbh tho I would completely agree they aren't doing anything for ranked rewards or making some kind of honour system for ranked or a special high elo radiant queue or even different game modes, I definitely do think people are just riding on the no replay system thing, more than half of you all saying this shit don't even play the game and those who do, a lot of them won't use it a lot , obviously it's of definitely good use to the pros , it's just a trendy thing to hate on thats why everyone is doing it.
elysxxm [#6]it takes a bit to add replay, they had to entirely rebuild the game for a replay to work, plus i dont think theyve been teasing it for 5 years correct me if wrong
Exactly lol, I could easily bet the replay system will be used by roughly 25% of the players on usual basis and the rest will only use it to so rarely , it's not something that's really important, also yeah they started abt replay system since like 2023 season end so yeah not too bad and the ping problem of replay definitely something hard to solve and people who aren't smart won't realise it

It is that important trust

As a replay seeker I’ll use it alot

I'm sure they considered it heavily, but they decided that they weren't gonna build the replay system for whatever reason. After listening to the community they changed their mind, and started to build the replay system, which will take longer than implementing it when building the game
Rita-nae [#17]As a replay seeker I’ll use it alot
U may but not others , u could come in the 25% people who will use it

It took them 5 years to add auto remake voting. Still no replay, no queueing while in range and so many more basic features. It's clear you haven't olayed any other gamd except valo but let me tell you, this isn't normal. This is not even bare minimum. Riot isn't a small company. They are owned by tencent. Stop making excuses for them. They already have a marketing team instead of a dev team that could work these features that even roblox kids can make.

A competitive fps deciding not to implement a replay feature is even worse than not listening to fans.

Valorant isn't a hero shooter, it's a tactical FPS.
They shouldn't have built the game in Unreal tbh. It's such a shit engine that only provides benefits for people doing hyper-realism. Valroant will only get nominal improvements from UE5, and if they used stuff like nanite or lumen it might add performance overhead.
Should've just made their own engine or made it in unity.

Writing a replay system in Unreal that doesn't kill your performance is gonna take a while.
You're likely writing everything in C++ and changing the source code for the engine to build the custom functionality you want without abstracting it through UE's ass APIs.
UE's source code documentation is pretty shit, and if they want to change to UE5 eventually, it wouldn't make much sense to rewrite the UE4 source code now.

No problem.
I literally went to school for this and worked in the industry as a graphics programmer before going back to school because the job market for that industry was shit.

It's definitely important
Replays are huge for content creators, which are one of the biggest advertisers for any game
a working replay system would 100% improve the community and playerbase
w1atrak [#24]How old are you?
probably old enough to undestand basic jokes, jesus fucking christ, take a meds
i_hate_winning [#12]Valorant's development began in 2015 and the first open beta was in 2020, there's no way they went 5 years without considering a replay feature for a competitive game.
bro there is no doubt they considered a replay system there is obviously a reason why they didn't create it on release.

The joke 💀
ALoKi007 [#2]It's easy to play a game, but not to build one
even valve, developers of shitty cs2 omegalul, have had a replay system since csgo's release. rito has no excuse

I mean the reason they use UE5 is because it has pretty much become the standard, and almost every developer knows it and many newer developers were trained on it while in college. Also, it would cost a lot of money and time for Riot to teach all these developers another engine or their own engine rather than just use the engine all of them know.
