No, you weren’t. The mere fact that you’re even considering being better than FNC 23 shows just how disconnected from reality you are. Don’t get me wrong, PRX 23 was one of the best teams in the world, but they weren’t on the same level as FNC 23.

Okay, I disagree, but I respect your opinion. PRX really had a better year in terms of results (Top 16, Top 3, and Top 2 vs. Top 2, Top 8, and Top 3), but LOUD played better as a team than PRX. Of course, this is just my personal opinion.

You can't compare. New map rotations, different agents in meta, different agents being nerfed or buffed. You cannot compare the best teams from different years reliably. It not possible. They are all measured in their own bubble, at a different standard to all the other best teams of previous years. That's the truth but people LOVE to power scale. It happens all the time even outside of pro valorant. It's not as simple as "this team is better because they beat so and so 3 years ago and so and so beat this team and..." because valorant is a dynamic and constantly changing game, even if the changes are not very major.

the only circumstance where powerscaling makes sense is when the fundamental gameplay is different. for instance if 2021 SEN or 2022 Optic were dropped into 2024 Shanghai or Seoul they wouldn't do well against the top tiers because the game has fundamentally changed so much. but that really only applies when the timescale is very noticeable (like more than 2 years)

With map rotations, it could be every 6 months though. It can make a huge difference to a team if their permanent ban get removed, or if their best map goes out of rotation

doesn't really apply to a team that is indisputably one of the best of the year (idk why I included Sentinels but whatever). If a team can't get past a map rotation then there exists problems that are more than just "meta shift lol". We're talking about top tiers of a given season not just 'good teams'. 2022 was fundamentally different than Champs 2023 much less 2024

Yeah I understand that but when maps come back after a while with new agents and all that, it causes a massive shift in how the map might be played.

yeah I'm not arguing against that but literally my original point was saying that comparatively the fundamental standard of the game rises every year from the top-down. 2022 was so much worse than 2024 from an individual and team standpoint that it's not even funny. the game itself hasn't changed significantly: everyone is just generally so much better now
