I think in sports like soccer it's hard to get as many reps in practicing anything in particular unless you're literally in Real Madrid's training facilities with a team of hired athletes to help you individually.
In esports we have aim trainers, the ability to queue into a ranked match any time we want, custom games to try kits out, etc.
So the fact that players like Messi can become so skilled at dribbling past defenders and scoring wondergoals--winning 5+ ballon d'ors over the course of a decade (with his physical ability declining with age moreso than a league players) is still more impressive to me.
But compared to like Usain Bolt, where the sport in question is just "pure mechanics" in esports term, having been blessed with insane genetics and realizing the potential he had with them--I think Faker's feat is more impressive
