Faker compared to other goats

Is faker better athlete than mj, Ronaldo or lebron? Saw interesting comment in league reddit that only Wayne Gretzky is comparable to faker and faker is like one of the greatest athlete ever. Also is league more competitive and harder than almost everything except football cause it has larger playerbase playing comps?

might be a hot take but he definitely deserves to be in those discussions

I still think eSports is still too young for it's success to be compared to big sports. I don't want to undermine eSports but I think sports at top level is more competitive than eSports and it is tougher to be goat in top level sports compared to top level eSports. Still faker is in his own league in eSports. Only some comparable one are in fgc or someone like flash from StarCraft.

I headed out with kkOma to tour his farm, and he started introducing me to some of the livestock, mentioning how he had named them after his players, as the unhinged animals they were. Just then, I was hit by an unbearable stench. With my eyes watering uncontrollably, I questioned through gritted teeth, “What in the hell is that smell?” He looked over knowingly and said: "Ah. Faker? The goat is never washed.”

It's probably technically correct but the word "athlete" feels wrong

Would you say being goat of eSports is bigger than being goat of a sports? Faker has accomplished so much but don't know why it still feels crazy to call him better than someone like Messi or mj.

Depends on the sport I suppose, but no, it's not anywhere close to Messi or Mj's levels. 90% of the planet know who Messi or Ronaldo are, I don't imagine Faker's level being above 20%

its definitely easier to be a goat in an esport than it is to be a goat in a sport

Depends on the sport.

I would say it's arguably harder to stay on top in an esport as complicated as league throughout multiple metas, different characters, etc. and where mechanics are almost the same at the very top...

than it is in olympic sprinting: Usain Bolt was born with tremendous talent and potential that he realized, that 99% of the world will never have access to--which ended with him never even getting close to losing a race

That's the thing tho, genetics can carry you in sports and when only you out of MILLIONS have that specific gene or phenotype that makes you a better player, no hard work will allow someone to be better than you. Thats why you dont see like 20 michael phelps or 30 usain bolts, but you could definitely argue against someone like s1mple/zywoo/niko being the goats in cs because its easier to get to that point

If you can name any player that make 7 final in 12 years, or win 5 world in 12 years he can sit at Faker table

Again talking about eSports vs sports success. Do you think faker success in league is comparable to Messi success in football or even Sachin Tendulkar success in cricket? eSports is too young IG.

Only 4 champions league for Messi, so yeah, maybe he one that can sit as his table but theya re not that mush. (But he is close enough to sit at his tabel, but not because of success because of aura)
I don't know Cricket, maybe he can sit at Faker's table.

I'm not saying that Faker is the most dominant people a sport/esport ever know, i'm just saying they are not a lot of people that can sit as it table.

I think in sports like soccer it's hard to get as many reps in practicing anything in particular unless you're literally in Real Madrid's training facilities with a team of hired athletes to help you individually.

In esports we have aim trainers, the ability to queue into a ranked match any time we want, custom games to try kits out, etc.

So the fact that players like Messi can become so skilled at dribbling past defenders and scoring wondergoals--winning 5+ ballon d'ors over the course of a decade (with his physical ability declining with age moreso than a league players) is still more impressive to me.

But compared to like Usain Bolt, where the sport in question is just "pure mechanics" in esports term, having been blessed with insane genetics and realizing the potential he had with them--I think Faker's feat is more impressive

Even though I like Messi and Neymar more but have to admit Faker is great but he really doesn't clear Ronaldo.
