I don't understand these complains. Tier 1 is barely or not even profitable, of course Riot is going to need as much as they can get for tier 2. SEA fans constantly complain about Riot prioritizing Korea, saying Jake Sin is bias but they try to get sponsors for tier 2 and y'all still complain. If you cared so much about your scene, just watch it on SOOP.

Because an open circuit is less profitable? Unless they get sponsors from gambling sites etc. Also having a dozens of TOs will just lead to situations where the TOs don’t pay like what happened with Nerdstreet

My take on this is its either :

Even when they merge the region it's still very unprofitable.
SOOP's money is so big that no matter how large the viewership is it's not beating SOOP's money.
