I think its better to look at this more objectively and talk about the real issue… if this deal is financially driven which it seems like it is, if the sea region doesn’t have enough sponsorship, commercial deals to stay afloat then this deal with Soop is maybe the one the fill the gap. riot games is also probably looking for long term sustainable and whats best for the regions esport health. If this deal can provide the financial and infrastructural support necessary to grow the sea region, its probably a strategic sacrifice in the short term for the greater good of the competitive scene. Instead of looking at this as a move that prioritizes one region over another, it might be more productive to consider how it could actually help SEA esports build up the resources it needs to thrive long term

you are taking the piss here, if I'm not wrong only Thailand has close or a bit more average viewership than Korea, as for the peak, Korea still edges out. It depends on what you define the 'value' as. If it is money, we need to take account all the sponsorships, prize money, etc with the number of teams. The latter, its obv he is trying to trigger you so why even bother.
In my words tho, its pretty much useless to say which is more valuable. BUT from the viewership and sponsorship combined, compared to the result of ascension, Korea being on their own is more than fair, whereas more than 5 countries being mixed in 1 tournament might not be the best idea.
However, its only stage 3, and its considered an off season, so unless Riot goes with this format next year and only have 1 team to ascension, its pretty L move.
