The GC to T2/T1 pipe-line

Whenever people discuss this they're always talking about florescent and their potential in T2/T1 but florescent also gets diffed in GC by other top female players. The question really is: are any of the GC players ready for T2/T1?

Look, I quite like watching top GC teams and seeing how they play. Currently I'm big on Vania, very crisp vandal. However, I also have to be realistic because then I watch VCT Ascension and these players are leagues ahead. We should wait for the co-ed off//season tournament happening soon and make our final judgements from there.

I have a feeling the best way for a GC player to make it to tier 1 is to just straight up play Premier instead of GC, win Premier, and qualify into tier 2 that way before making a run to Ascension

I 100% thought this the other day too. just get your 5 and say fuck GC win that premier shit (obviously you are risking it by going 0 paycheck and need a real job to sustain yourself while you do premier for free)

This is true. Another idea would be somehow getting your org on board—if you can convince them you're a team that has a serious shot at winning Ascension then who knows? They might not be so opposed to the idea of leaving GC in a bid to try to get into the highest level of play. And if that doesn't work, then you can always come back to GC through open qualifiers (which should be a breeze if you're a well-established team)

This is true for the most part. However, there are a few major exceptions, such as Shopify Rebellion, FlyQuest, XIPTO, and Team Falcons

Tbf she hasn't even been playing for a little bit and if anything I think G2 gozen have a better chance of making to tier2 especially since polaris is shit besides apeks

I mean, they scrim VCL teams and their manager made a post showing scores (iirc he claimed they had 63% winrate at the time). It's not that they didn't take it seriously, I think the lack of a proper coach (because they hired Temphys just as he entered a very turbulent period in his life) and a mix of nerves impacted their play. Rezq looks a lot more promising in comparision to when they started, which is also a huge plus. If there's a team to make it, it is them.

Some of them for sure for tier 2 (like Bob on SaD this year) but I wouldn't say any of them as a team yet, just gotta give it time and see how it pans out

Bob use to play on tier 1 soniqs who were at least top 16 in america and even took a map from sentinels after they had just won iceland I believe

I think she would have no problem playing in BR T2 but she's likely not doing it unless she leaves TL and it's just not happening

I think the main issue with GC is that it pays way more than challengers, despite challengers being the higher league
I defo think that some of the top GC players could compete in t2, its just that instead of GC creating opportunities it's actually diminishing them if you consider the main VCT system

I’m sorry but assemble the best possible gc team with all the talent in the world they will still get stomped down by some random ass free agent team that barely gives a shit qualifying for challengers 😭😭 like 2023 dfm has a higher chance of beating 2022 loud than a gc team winning a map in t2 forget t1. Call me a hater or whatever but you know I’ll be right

nah, valorant is different now. 2023 dfm would never beat 2022 loud, but a gc team with good coaching and the best players could easily win a map. however a gc team inherently will never do anything more than a map or perhaps a fluke game or two, it has to be a co-ed team with good tier 2 players and the best gc players for anything to happen

A map is stretching it… Sr got bodied in the open quals for Na t2… they were 2 time gc champions. Really goes to show how much their orgs over pay them. Gc is just diamond level players with better comms and a coaching staff

Team liquid brazil plays premiere and got to closed qualifiers for challengers brazil, they were closer than Shopify Rebellion.

GC is just a better paycheque, there is so much risk involved in making the jump away from GC
and then there's the personal risk with being a trans woman moving away from your team of people you trust and are close with
