In a move that has sent shockwaves through the Valorant community, Sentinels have announced the acquisition of renowned coach Chet "Chet" Singh and former superstar player Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker for the 2025 VCT season. This bold roster shake-up follows the unexpected departures of assistant coach Drew "drewspark" Sparkman and initiator player Gustavo "Sacy" Rossi.
Chet, who is widely regarded as one of the best strategic minds in Valorant, will take over as head coach. This transition pushes Adam "kaplan" Kaplan, the current head coach, back into the assistant coach role—a position he held in 2023. The decision to make this coaching switch has raised eyebrows, but insiders suggest that Chet’s proven track record was a key factor in the team's decision.
With Chet now steering the ship, Sentinels have also restructured their player roles to optimize their lineup. Amine "JohnQT" Ouarid, who has been the in-game leader (IGL) for the team, will return to the initiator role that he excelled in during his time with Ghost Gaming and M80 in 2022 and 2023. This change was made to accommodate yay, who will take over the sentinel role—a position in which he was once considered the best player in the world by far during his dominant run in 2022.
