ZETA DIVISION release hiroronn and yuran

Hiroki "hiroronn" Yanai and Yushin "yuran" Hato of ZETA DIVISION ZETA DIVISION Japan Rank #10 Dep Yuma Hashimoto SugarZ3ro Shota Watanabe have each announced that the team has allowed them to explore their options as restricted free agents.

Both players joined ZETA as rookies for the 2024 season, marking the organization's first roster changes since 2022 following crow 's transition to assistant coach and TENNN 's departure from the team.

hiroronn was scouted from FENNEL FENNEL Japan Rank #2 GON CLZ SyouTa Xdll Yuto Mizomori following their third place finish in Challengers Japan, while yuran was picked up directly from ZETA Division Academy. Brazilian coach Carlao was also brought in to provide a fresh perspective to the team.

Regional expectations were high for the Japanese squad at the beginning of the 2024 season after they won the Pacific Last Chance Qualifier to qualify for Champions in 2023. While ZETA were able to secure a respectable 4th-6th place finish in Pacific Kickoff, they were subsequently unable to carry their momentum forward and spent the majority of the season towards the bottom of the standings. ZETA ended the regular season with a 3-7 record and ultimately failed to qualify for playoffs.

The active roster has been reduced to just two following the recent retirement of Laz .

Not really, vcj has an abundance of local talents waiting to be picked up by zeta and dfm, laz is good but he's old, he won't be there long anyways. So rather than delaying the inevitable might as well just let him retire and get tier 2 talents to get accustomed to tier 1.

Zeta and dfm sucks at roster moves, t2 orgs are not budging, buyout clause too expensive. Some players prefer to win through ascension ( fennel )

I need to see what Yuran can do tho, hope he can finally show us why he got picked to academy in tier 2.

Hiroronn showed his true potential on sentinel. Yuran, I'm still yet to see why he got picked for Tier 1 whilst boasting a bit of confidence (this stems from the VCT Pacific "Know Your Enemy" Ep1). Perhaps Yuran might prefer duelist like iZu, but played the initiator/viper flex to accommodate for Dep. The only highlight moments for Yuran were 3-0 wins against GE. Other than that, most of his games are lacklustre and don't back up his confidence.

Idk whether to believe carlao or not , but he did say that yuran learns the fastest out of them all, does this means that he's so bad that any progress automatically skyrocketed him closer to his peers? or he's ultimately being hold back by carlao's structure just like hiroronn?

That's what I'm thinking. This looks like an intentional set-up to sign cracked Ascension players for next season. Kept their two best players but opened room for three strong talents.
