Duelist: texture (lighting up literally every game he played)
Runner ups: zekken, kangkang(cz consistent in cn league and popped off in champs), aspas(consistency is king)

Initiator: Riens(great util usage and w player overall)
runner ups: Leo(while he was still playing he was insane), lakia(dont give me shit, he was insane when geng needed him),

Senti: Benjyfishy(imo most consistent senti this year)
runner ups: meteor(also rlly consistent this year), chichoo(also popped off in champs), johnqt(HE ISNT A ROOKIE but hes still insane)

Controller: Karon(from ranked??)
runnerups: Boo( fragging when th needed him the most), smoggy(champs,also consistent in regular season despite role change, tenz(same as smoggy but smoggy won champs)

Flex: Wo0t(he was insane in shanghai and still is ths best player)
runnerups: zellsis(saved sen), munchkin(cracked, igls dont hv an excuse for bad mechanics), Foxy9(IM Biased but he change roles like 3 times this season u hv to give him credit)

IGL: munchkin(watch fns explain his calls and ull realise)
runner ups: Boo(also insane calling), Johnqt(saved sen too), nobody(bro igled for less than 3 months and won champs)

Rookie of the year: Karon(from ranked??)

then you could say the same about every other region except Americas. TH and GenG/PRX have been the only teams from their regions to get deep into internationals? What's different between them and China according to your logic? I agree that the Chinese league has a wider margin between the top and bottom compared to the other leagues, but to act like there is only one team that is noteworthy from the region when we saw the third seed upset Vitality and Lev back to back, and FPX have super close games with some top teams this year is disingenuous.

EMEA has a total of 2 wins in playoffs the whole year if you take Heretics away, and one of the wins was two EMEA teams against each other lmao. You can't just use placements as the be all end all of how good teams were, that's my whole point. If you want to use international playoffs wins as the metric of how good a league is, then Americas is the only good league. That's just stupid logic.

i think both regionals and internationals shld be considered bcos when it comes to the top teams i think the extra accolade you get really boosts the team but at the end of the day many people say the regional leagues are bad, so it could change ur perspective

Placements can be a good indication of regional skill. But like I said, it shouldn't be the only or main factor. As to why FPX doesn't get to playoffs, that's something within their team that can be answered, could be any type of team related reason. Doesn't change the fact that they were competitive this year, even if they didn't make it past group stages. And in reality, look at who they had to face this year at events. 4/7 of their international matches were vs. Heretics/GenG/Sentinels. 2 EVENT WINNERS and a back-to-back grand finalist. other three, they beat FUT, and lost at Madrid to LOUD and KC, who were in form at the time. Not many teams in the world would have done much better given those matches. Bottom line is all the regions have multiple good teams.

sen placed first in masters and 4th at champs but edg placed 6th/8 in masters and 8/16 in masters 2 but they got there through a bye, overall their year was worse than sen bcos i think doing shit in 2 masters and winning champs is abit worse than doing well in both events u made, still them not making shanghai makes it a debate. idk could go either way

Sen didnt even make playoffs for masters 2 and lost to 100T in playoffs for champs, not winning a single game in playoffs. they couldnt even get a buy for split 2 playoffs.

EDG:

SEN:
1st, 1st, 8th, 16th, 6th, 4th

Sen needed to ATLEAST make playoffs imo for masters 2 to be in contention

There's definitely an argument for EDG being the better team than SEN this year because they made all 3 internationals and beat SEN on their way to winning champs.

But EDG were playing in a less competitive region compared to SEN so most don't think EDG should be given full credit for their regional dominance. SEN flopped in Split 1 and didn't make Shanghai, while EDG completely dominated Split 1 and bombed out of Shanghai. I'd give EDG the slight edge but not by much.

shouldn’t shrug off edg just becuz they didn’t do well in masters this year, becuz s1mon only joined after shanghai, his first internationals is champions and they won it. their performance in champs was solely worthy enough to be in top 3 teams this year, maybe one thing is we didn’t get to see them face off against geng so we dk how it could have went, but they did beat SEN instead

I would've loved to see a GENG vs EDG rematch. Their Madrid match had a weaker EDG and the map pool heavily favored GENG but it was still a 3 map game.
