take a look at other sports
reason why USA dominates basketball - more players = more talent = higher average skill of that region = domination
reason why EU good at football - same thing
reason why EU good at CS - same thing
same goes for any sport, grappling, tennis, table tennis or chess.
Now, the thing with China is that unlike the US, where the leagues are more individualistic, chinese atheletes are usually more humble, making it PERFECT for China to dominate sports for years due to its massive population.
with EDG already being the biggest spender in china, they will likely retain the roster no matter what, allowing them to get an ever better cohesion, even more time together and dominating even more. Which region will catch up to EDG first? China, because it scrims, praccs and competes with them on regular basis, then comes apac, and emea and americas only get them at international LANs.
teams like Trace and FPX, while practicing with EDg will only get better, rising their level as well. Now what happens if chinese teams dominate valorant?
Chinese generally start playing more valorant, giving it an even bigger talentpool.
for every huge talent americas will produce, china might have 5 of them due to how young and intergrated to the internet their society is
I disagree in some points.
You are missing that the most important thing to generate the most dominating region, isnt population, its money (And culture, but we gonna not talk about this)
In case of football, Europe spend billions in football schools and teams, since young, they search talents in the whole world to put in their football sub-teams.
For CS, besides the investment in T2 and T3, Europe have the most majors, encouraging new players too follow their idols.
If China wins, besides the huge playerbase, the Chinese orgs will invest more in Valorant = A more dominating region.
And you said you was from cs right? Valorant is a momentum game, in a second you are god, in a second you are terrible.
(I can be wrong) Even if EDG wins, this dont mean that they are going to win again, the meta can change in less they a week, its rare too see teams be good in both seasons.
Besides that, i agree with you, W post.
