hows your first impression of the game so far?
I like the combat and it's been pretty fun exploring so far. Just waiting for them to fix the optimization and bugs. The first day was a shame because I had to put on very low graphics to actually play the game without lagging. Just got Verina today and prob going for Calcharo so I can play him with Yinlin when her banner is out. I like the skip button for the story since I prefer watching other people play the story first.

did they rolled out a patch for that? because i too was stuttering on my first play.

I haven't really checked yet, but I would assume not yet. It might just take a little until they fix it. They did send out 10 standard pulls for the compensation so that was nice
AltonBu02 [#12]It's aight
Combats good but it's not anything too special. And that's pretty much the best part by far.
I agree they are the most promising aspect of the game and so fun to do, though I still prefer Genshin's combat mechanic by a bit as its more casual friendly and I've got skill issues.
The rest is kinda meh, the writing is really bad and characters personalities don't help either (Scar is an exception). The world feels more futuristic rather than supposedly post-apocalyptic. Music is okay but most are not to my taste. Obviously these are subjective but I mainly rating games from their Music=Art=Characters>Story=World Building>Player Experience>Game Design
So far there's literally nothing to get me hooked playing. While Genshin has its main story/archon quest, music, and many interesting characters to keep me playing the game
i mean its been like a day since its launched so i expected a lot of performance issues anyways, but nothing too game breaking. story is kinda ok, if ur not into lore its gonna get boring but i personally am enjoying the story and being able to add ur own little quirks with different dialogue is kinda fun (might just be a loser idk), and combat is def the best part of the game rn, more skill based than genshin but still pretty simple
i think the longer it has time to develop, i lwk think it could surpass genshin but thats far future

Its still a good game, but im not sure if it will ever to surpass genshin. The spec requirements is ridiculous, many phone gamers out there are still using mid tier phones and WuWa pc minimum spec requirements is literally genshin recommended requirements
Also first impression is important. There are 30 millions who pre registered for the game, they should've expected the server to be overloaded. Not to mention so many bugs and performance issues. It's obvious they're inexperienced with UE and not ready to release the game

Yeah I completely agree on the take with combat.
Genshin's combat is honestly underrated and too good for it's game. There's a lot of aspects that you have to know to optimize your clears especially if you are f2p. Rotations, ICD, application rate, animation canceling, and more, there's a lot of depth in genshin's combat that doesn't get talked about. Don't even get me started on double swirling and other nerd shit like that. Team building is way more fun and complex than WW and the combat is way more unique compared to WW.
Yeah and genshin does the other stuff miles better, I agree with that as well.
sleepingspice [#8]Mechanics good but boring ass exposition dumps make me care less for the story
what are you talking about. u get to run on walls and have a batman grappler. that is peak exploration mechanic.
Niyah [#14]This is a good game, but genshin better
your hardest content is spamming spacebar trying to prevent paimon from yapping.
Emjayyy [#22]what are you talking about. u get to run on walls and have a batman grappler. that is peak exploration mechanic.
do u even read?
Emjayyy [#24]your hardest content is spamming spacebar trying to prevent paimon from yapping.
wuthering waves actually so goated for adding skip buttons to all dialogues
Wisterfulsson [#23]Story is basically on par with Genshin's level of bad or even worst. Optimization needs a little work but its been 2-3 days so its fine and combat + exploration is aite nothing we havent seen before
fontaine and sumeru story is pretty good tho (especially for a gacha)
cohnr [#30]can anyone explain to me what the actual appeal of the games like these are? I played 2 hours of genshin at launch and got insanely bored very quickly and really cannot understand why people want to dump their money into the game
genshin is open world arpg that's more focus around story/lore. Its a chill game that runs well and is polish. WuWa lacks in story and polish but combat wise and exploration is very fun imo. Right now it needs to be optimized.

why people want to dump their money into the game
Basically like collecting pokemons but they're completely optional and not even the main content
sleepingspice [#8]Mechanics good but boring ass exposition dumps make me care less for the story
it gets better when Scar appears otherwise not surprised 1.0 stories are never good
Combat feels really nice and it's pretty easy when it should be easy but the hard parts are pretty hard. Gacha system is pretty good and devs are generous. The biggest gripe I, and other people, have is the story is lackluster and pretty boring. I skipped through most of it and even the final fight was way too boring imo. Otherwise I expect the story to get better as time goes on. Like HSRs Space Station was pretty boring but once you get to Jarilo-VI it's pretty good from there. Even if the Xianzhou is a mess.
cobalt21312 [#25]voice acting is mid, combat is pretty solid
That's an EN problem. Might be because they hired British actors and told them to sound american
Rodu [#20]Scar carrying the game rn for me, combat is great and feels like it rewards acc skill. Music and first act of story is rly bad.
I think the music's pretty good. It fits the locations and doesn't really feel out of place
Rodu [#20]Scar carrying the game rn for me, combat is great and feels like it rewards acc skill. Music and first act of story is rly bad.
i hate him so much idk how yall like him i want to beat his ass into a pulp on the ground consistently as a reoccurring story beat that this mf always gets his ass beat by the main character annoying cocky ass bitch Scar
Emjayyy [#22]what are you talking about. u get to run on walls and have a batman grappler. that is peak exploration mechanic.
exposition not exploration
As others have said, story is mid asf and confusing at that, which is def annoying, but i still dont mind it, because at least i dont have FUCKING paimon SCREECHING in my ears, re-explaining LITERALLY EVERYTHING that ANY character says. The game doesn’t assume were stupid.
For me, the combat is PEAK when compared to genshin - you actually have combos and meters and real mechanics rather than genshit “click left click then press e and q and switch to next character and repeat” type simple boring slop combat. Also, im not sure if its permanent thing (i really hope it is), but theres an area thats similar to a Spiral Abyss/Simulated Universe hybrid, with character-specific buffs and sim uni curio-esque things, and on top of that theres added depth with unique paths that you need to fulfill for more buffs (again a lot like Star Rail’s Sim Uni but a little more complex in a good way). It DOES have the same ability-description issue as Genshin, where its just incomprehensible word slop, BUT there are legit character tutorials that teach basic combos and how their abilities and meters and shit work, with good descriptions, so you can actually learn wtf youre doing without looking it up, where genshin char trials are literally just brief shitty descriptions of the character ONCE in the beginning and then they throw you into it, no real learning
Gacha sys/rewards are also god tier compared to genshin - so so so fucking generous. Genshin literally gave THREE individual single pulls for their 3yr anniversary, and their pre-signup rewards when it came out were utter dogshit compared to wuthering. WuWu has already dropped so many free pulls, guaranteed standard 5* voucher for weapon AND character, the 20% off standard puller is available up until you get a 5 star from it, compared to genshins being limited to 2 10x’s total, and more
There are some bugs, for sure, which sucks, but personally none of them have happened to me EXCEPT voice dialouge audio ending a second or two early (which is annoying but fine since there are subtitles)
Also, it is like, almost exactly 1:1 Genshin’s UI, which is funny, so if youre used to that then thats a plus for you

Realistically it wont surpass genshin in player count but the bar that genshin has set for WuWu to clear for gameplay, generosity, and story is REALLY low
Even if not playerwise it will 100% surpass it GAME wise. For me its already better simply because the combat isnt slop and the world actually is full - genshin feels fucking empty the way it has 10 people in a city, only 1 city and maybe 2 other populated places per region, practically no wildlife, etc
There are tooons of settlements in WuWu with a lot of people in them, and different species of animals (not even the monsters, there are just a shitload of animals, its nice) and different types of each animal (like fur color and horns or no horns etc) and the foliage is way nicer

yep as shitty as wuwa launch and bugs are they nailed the one thing that absolutely matters for me in this type of game its the combat/exploration. I legit cannot play genshin more than 20 min without falling asleep listening to paimon and them yap. At times i'm wondering if i'm even playing a game or watching a visual novel. The combat is basically nonexistent when you one shot everything.

TRUE. And they have switch-Zelda esque dodge tech, stuff like counters/parries, and more like that. Its actual somewhat-complex combat with depth. Goes for the difficulty as well. Genshin makes things difficult just by adding more HP/more damage (and annoying gimmicks), but wuwu actually punishes players for (bigger) mistakes, and enemies have gimmicks that arent annoying but still make them challenging to fight. Its really nice bc genshin boss battles are either 2 seconds or 15 years, but wuwu boss battles are mostly based off of skill as long as your chars arent underleveled/underbuilt. You can actually lose wuwu fights simply bc you played it wrong or played too risky, unlike genshin where the only time you ever die is enemies that can one-tap you for no reason or have buggy hitboxes/rapid hit attacks that last for way too long and stunlock you because you never pulled for Mr. Unbreakable Shield Man that makes you never need to dodge

to be fair as far as the rewards go, we're too early into the game to know if rewards will remain consistently good
thus far the 5 star selector at the very least was definitely to try to save face, especially because of how much the Chinese community seemed to hate the games launch (horrible for business!)
Regardless, I cvan see myself playing atleast until ZZZ launch, and then I'll pick between one of those 2 games to play alongside Star Rail until another Genshin and WuWa competitor releases

Genshins vocal minority is the worst of any game, but the game itself is pretty dam fun as long as u arent playing everyday. Its that kinda game u hop on twice or thrice a month enjoy ur time and then go play smth else.
Ullyr [#60]bro why would you ask for pvp in a p2w gacha game lol the whales would farm everyone.
weak mindset pvp "gacha game bad" "p2w bad"
dev can balance weapon
example battle condition
Weapon resonance effects, traits, Artifact effects, and Phantasia are disabled.
・Healing effects are reduced by 50%.
・Jetboard is not allowed.
・All players start with a shield.

Don't underestimate gacha games because you also born from a gacha of millions, with only one winner

You pretty much sum up the majority of genshin players
Exploration, Combat and Character designs are really good. The story is kinda mid till Act 5, but that is to be expected. Tbh as far as 1.0 stories go, its way better than Genshin. Farming for mats doesnt even feel like a chore in this game, you legit have fun while grinding. The graphics are good too, although unoptimized. Unreal Engine 4 is rough. Would not recommend this game if you are playing only on a mobile device, no other complains otherwise. Devs are hard at work. Personally never faced any serious bugs or crashes even on a laptop. Cant wait to get to the endgame and see what the devs have in store for future versions.
DrudaL [#18]mine kinda lag every time I just login, need to wait 2-3min and then everything somehow fine

proud_bandwagoners [#51]genshin feels fucking empty the way it has 10 people in a city, only 1 city and maybe 2 other populated places per region, practically no wildlife, etc

mondstadt is ESPECIALLY bad, but other regions are bad too. Liyue city has more npcs, esp uninteractible ones sure but not enough for the sheer size of the city. Its supposed to be like, the largest, busiest port in the WORLD. It is mostly empty and maybe 3 NPCs from other regions. In a humongous port city. Inazuma is a… fucking barren wasteland of soldiers and almost no one else. There are tons of soldiers, then like 20 interactable NPCs, +10 counting the shrine, mil camp, and kokomis island (which dont even get me started the “village” there is like fully unpopulated, kokomi is protecting like almost no one. Then no one else in inazuma, except maybe quest NPCs that dissapear when youre done with them. Sumeru is OK because you cant really see how empty it is since its so cluttered and field of vision so blocked, but damn, there are like NO people there. A few academics here, a few guards and mercs there, sprinkle some merchants in their stalls, then no one else - like there are what are supposed to be huge bustling markets like the stage area in the tree and the many outdoor markets with JUST merchants - no customers, no one to buy their things, no one living. Fontaine is easily the worst though - it seems fine because the areas that matter are populated and you only ever really go there (like the adv. guild area) - but the moment you leave, go to the outskirts of this GINORMOUS city the size of liyue and mondstadt cities combined, there is fucking NO one. Its abandoned. I admit though fontaine does have good sub-POIs that feel decently enough populated.
Star Rail is peak “this city that is supposed to be massive and filled with people” representation, it is easily the best with TONS of non-interactable NPCs just doing shit, making it seem like, yk, actual CITIES. Genshin “cities” feel like small towns populations that moved into huge abandoned cities
proud_bandwagoners [#54]Simply said genshin is for casuals and Wuwa is for players who want more challenging ver of genshin.

I am aware that zhongli got “countered” recently with the Arle boss and whatnot, but still, for a vast majority of the game, zhongli makes caring about HP useless. Even riftwolves that were SUPPOSED to counter it just dont do enough to be more than an annoyance.
Anyway, buggy hitboxes was an exaggeration, some things do feel like they hit too much/too far, but in a fight with multiple enemies that have attacks that can knock you down, you can get stuck for a solid 5 seconds or more if youre unlucky and their attack RNG lands right (get up - one knocks you down - get up - next knocks you down - continue loop). It doesnt even have to be multiple enemies sometimes, some have attacks that hit multiple times that last for a while that do the “you got knocked over!” Thing (i mean like bro the fucking WILD BOAR mobs that are just for meat drops can stunlock you, it has happened to me before in the middle of fighting other enemies that a boar charges me and KEEPS RUNNING into my body, spam knocking me over and i cant attack at all.)
Rodu [#59]he's the only dude who isn't dick riding the mc. It felt like everyone trying a lil hard to get in our pants while also doing a shit job about being subtle about it. At least this guy embarrasses his insanity and is honest to us.
Bro whaaat wym he completely dickrides the MC just in a different way than the others
Tbh, hes just the exact type of character trope that REALLY pisses me off. I can see other people liking him, its just this specific archetype is like, idk man, i just despise characters like this so much, not despise as in i think theyre bad, as in “i hate you so much i want to kill you SO BAD”

I can see what you're getting, but remember at the end of the day Genshin is supposed to be a mobile game and they have already reached the point of 5 region which is massive(not even including the sub world like enkanomiya) and obviously would require more size. So of course they would reconsider anything that could increase the game size and in this case npcs. The game so far in my phone only takes over 20gb which is impressive imo considering how vast the world is rn and looks lively enough for a mobile game
UnitedKingdom [#85]I am aware that zhongli got “countered” recently with the Arle boss and whatnot, but still, for a vast majority of the game, zhongli makes caring about HP useless.
Again, the game is supposed to be casual/mobile friendly game, and it's obviously not for someone like you who prefers more challenging stuff. I'm not sure/understand about the hitboxes thingy, though I agree that some of the enemies are gimmicky and some times annoying(especially the zoo duo), but they're still very easy to deal with for every skill issue player ever. You just have to invest in your character enough (if the context is for spiral abyss). Also, the boar is not a real enemy and to me that one is a fun feature to have lol
askrial [#75]damn. thats rough (for the vas, fuck the people who told them to do it). if they wanted the so called "american accent" why the fuck did they not hire american people??? stupid casting imo
afaik they hired british va's because it was easier for the company to do rather than hire american va's
