Is there just no real info on the situation? I wasn't following stuff between the past two days outside of just knowing noot noot was banned, and was hoping to see an article from a writer here sort of explaining what happened, but I can't find anything.

imagine writing an article on something with no real information other than Riot saying the team is DQed. there is no official info outside of cheating occurred, but what cheating specifically, no one knows

basically in short,
Noot Noot's player https://www.vlr.gg/player/40754/malibu hit the riot anticheat and causes it to go off, for what reason isn't currently public so people don't know why but everyone is ASSUMING they were cheating, but malibu themselves claims it was from a previous ban evasion(source a teammate outing dms on twitter https://twitter.com/1xann/status/1710109084261728365) that's all i currently know of it^^

I know you're just summarizing but I find it hard to believe that Riot would make a statement that clearly implies cheating if it was just ban evasion. I don't see why 1) why or how anti-cheat is detecting ban evasion, and 2) if Riot has info, and has to come to the decision that it's ban evasion, why word it in a way that would imply it would be something else?

they said from their own post (https://twitter.com/valesports_na/status/1710099437815754778) that "competitive integrity" was compromised, that does not mean "cheating" "competitive integrity" includes ban evasions, stuff like vivo key'd vs ACEND where vivo key's used an illegal cypher cam, that was considered a breach of competitive integrity in riot's eyes. It's not just for people cheating, the anticheat was triggered and it was some form of integrity problem, that's the only info that riot said, it could count for any of the reasons above^^

Edit for the 2nd point since it looks like i didn't cover it, Why would a company as massive as riot get into naming and shaming without all the information and details they could possible find, u don't see a company like microsoft or sony disclosing that they have been hacked even in general sometimes, but they would NEVER do it without knowing exactly what was stolen and why and attempting to get it back or catch the hackers

key part is "Riot Anti-Cheat confirmed..." I can't find the tweet from the jhow incident, but I don't see anything mentioning riot anti-cheat there.

also edit for my 2nd point. That's my point. Why would they put out a message that infers cheating if that wasn't the case? Also, Microsoft and sony not naming hackers isn't the same as Riot not naming cheaters.

Is "Riot Anti-Cheat" a software or a team? Wouldn't they say vanguard?

i just don't like stuff like this tbh, i just wanted to make it clear that at the end of the day, this could not be about "blank specific thing that everyone thinks it's about"
https://www.dexerto.com/valorant/valorant-game-changers-team-forfeits-vct-match-after-riot-flags-cheating-suspicions-2325438/
^^it's articles like this where in the first line it blatantly says "A Valorant Game Changers team, Noot Noot, was made to forfeit a match after one of their players was caught cheating by Riot’s Anti-Cheat."
this is unconfirmed and if untrue horrible reporting after the truth comes out, just wait like a day for details kek.
"one of their players was caught cheating by Riot’s Anti-Cheat."" this line is unconfirmed unless they know more than they are saying

for the edit it is the same because i'm not talking about the hackers , we the COMMUNITY want the truth, sony and microsoft will release who has been hacked and what has been hacked when they KNOW (riot don't know why the anti was hit or who hit it at the time of the tweet, they had only just confirmed it HAD been hit), but that needs an internal investigation first (as riot said) i'd be much more worried if we had answers sooner rather than later because it'd show the investigation wasn't thorough and they didn't consider all the aspects at play, it's not that they don't wanna, but if they do name cheaters, they wanna get WHO the cheater was RIGHT and they wanna make sure they don't name someone as a cheater when it turns out it was because of a ban evasion or other dumb reasoning

I don't think this is a meaningful distinction. I can't believe that the "anti-cheat" team could also be the one that does ban evasion. But it still doesn't answer the question, if they believed the reason to be ban evasion, why would they put out such a vague statement that clearly has a cheating implication?

In past competitive rulings they've mentioned triggering vanguard specifically. It's possible it's just inconsistency in language but the capitalization of anti cheat makes it seem deliberate to me. Can't be sure either way I think.
