been dominated by jett and raze since valorant released. why has riot not added new viable duelists?
333triplethreat [#3]reyna dominated ish in 2021
She was a pick on icebox and an off pick on other maps. Phoenix was more dominant at that time
riot are not good at microbalancing and have proven this to be true, they either make massive, gamechanging role defining balance patches, or none at all. imo there is a fairly close gap between jett/raze and neon/yoru (arguably the next most viable duelists) but riots inability to appropriately balance the role, as demonstrated by 3/4 least played agents being duelists, is holding them back
kskm [#5]chamber. in all fairness i believe everyone just loves jett and they are biased towards the agent. if there is an agent introduced which can replace jett - most people will just hate it.
No chamber was worse than Jett. Chamber had a nearly untradeable ability regardless of positioning. Because the tp was long range, it allowed for him to shrug off all utility and getting his tp back up in just around 30 seconds. Jett can get punished by baiting out her dash, or making her take a fight in open spaces, while chamber could play pearl b site in the open with no drawback. I agree with him being a cool replacement to Jett and adding duelist diversity but not like he was pre patch.
bow___ [#8]movement duelist > flash duelist
flash initiator > flash duelistflash duelists are hard to balance.
neon will be shown more in the future, but the rest are not good enough, just make them more into the initiator role i guess (like ppl do that with yoru)
when phoenix is just kayo version alpha
when reyna has not good util to use instant other than destroyable flash
when yoru is being held as a duelist and not being the initiator at this point
it's doomed for this specific role

yeah i agree chamber was too good but the question asks for rivalry for jett/raze - I feel not enough people complain about it and if u compare Jett with reyna/phx/yoru the difference is way too big. In my opinion almost as big as the one between jett and Chamber.
Cresp [#2]Neon had a niche for a while. She still kinda has one tbh c9 are good with her on lotus
U haven't seen Fut play?
gamr [#15]Riot needs to rework the AWP so that it can be utilized by at least all duelists if not all agents to make other agents viable
first gamr W. awp sucks rn in pro play and people refuse to see it
hanafuuji [#13]damn what do you think the new movement duelist should look like?
they already got sprinty boi, dashy boi and bouncy boi, I can't even think of a new mechanic for a new movement duelist
That's why they have a development team for this, they have imagination
gamr [#15]Riot needs to rework the AWP so that it can be utilized by at least all duelists if not all agents to make other agents viable
Rather than reworking the AWP, i'd rework Jetts abilities, because I don't want a game with 3 or 4 AWPs per round tbh

Making the Op stronger is gonna make that we see more Jetts not less
Asuna_Yuuki [#14]C9 neon better
are we talking lotus only or all maps? because if its all maps, then optic take the crown for the first team to do it on both split and fracture way way ago.

what the fuck are you talking about, no one is going to play 3-4 awps per round. just look at csgo

Do you understand that with the current state of jett in the meta, teams would pick their obligatory jett op AND then another person for the improved second AWP?
AWP is miles better in valorant than it is on csgo, simply because the abilities you can use to easily run out of trouble, if you buff then or make it easier to use, then we have a serious problem

blud completely ignored the controller role update, that basically saved the smoker role and is the reason why its so balanced now

you have never played csgo have you?
Mortadelo [#19]Making the Op stronger is gonna make that we see more Jetts not less
the awp itself is in a good place. but it was indirectly nerfed with the current meta. needs to be indirectly buffed again
brobeans [#26]you have never played csgo have you?
It's WAY easier to use the AWP in csgo than it is to use it on valorant

Then you need to nerf Jett or you she will take over the meta

Do you see fewer teams using the AWP recently? Isn't it more than enough for you or do you actually want to see them more in proplay?
unknown_trash [#20]are we talking lotus only or all maps? because if its all maps, then optic take the crown for the first team to do it on both split and fracture way way ago.
M3c did it first on split, akrew did it first on fracture. Optic was the first at doing it well, chet diff.

so explain how the awp is miles in better in valorant? also u said 3-4 awps per round yet explained why there would only be two.

I already did l, if you read my previous comment
3-4 awps per round yet explained why there would only be two.
I mean aprox 2 per team and a total of 3-4 per round in a match (both teams)

double awp on attack, ur hilarious.
gamr [#34]double awp on attack, ur hilarious.
that's why I precisely said 3-4 per round.
Jett would be a must
