what do you mean?
Surely its more racist to say a "white man" cant use a word that a person of colour can.
The word is either bad, or acceptable. Cant pick and chose what it is when it suits.

You're actually right, also for some reason it's acceptable to sing songs where you threaten people or make the most misogynist things because it's just a song, but can't sing the n word because that's more than just a song?
Why can't we use our heads and look at context? Is it not clear that Ardiis doesn't mean anything bad at for example?

bros just choosing to ignore the historical context of the word. stop acting like you care. cuz if you did you wouldnt be arguing weather black ppl can or cannot use the n word.

I think you are missing the point.
Im not arguing if the word can or shouldnt be used. I am arguing that if the word is considered to be offensive you cant pick and chose when its offensive. The systemic racism problem is horrid, and so is the word. So the fact that its being used for personal gain and in essence being almost "normalised" as okay, is one of the fundimental problems behind this and why the youth of today see it as acceptable to use the word.
Ill just link this here as an example, yes i know its from a film but the premise is so right.

So before you say im missing the historical context, stop trying to act smart and look at the broader picture.

but we can pick and choose when the word is offensive. thats just how it is. thats how society sees it. it was a word used and linked with hatred and violence towards our skin. we took it and made it our own. i feel after centuries of abuse we can have 1 word.
i mean, it has happened to me and every white guy who enjoys rap, you know the word is in the lyrics, you try not to say it while you mumbling it and then outta nowhere you spit it and apologize despite there is no black people next to you and then you dont mumble a rap song ever again and learn the lesson.

Have the word by all means, just dont moan when someone who isnt of colour uses it. If you do i would say you by definition are just as racist as the person who is using the derogatory term.

so is singing a song the word is in, offensive?
duchesssx [#35]so is singing a song the word is in, offensive?
its not outright offensive to sing it in a song bc theres no ill intent, its just the principle. it should go without saying that non poc souldnt say it even tho they mean no harm. i feel no hatred or anger towards ardiis. i just hope he better controls himself when using language like that.

You are again missing the point and what you have just said is completely racist towards a white person.
Isnt the premise behind the black lives matter movement about equality? What you have said is completely the opposite of that and if this was portrayed by a white man telling a black man he cant say something that white man would be portrayed as a racist.
Use your head, you are creating the problem by making it acceptable!

Americans are too bought in to have a non braindead discussion on the use of language
I don't think anyone actually cares about him saying it apart from the vocal minority
