How tf would it mess with roles? It'd mean they all play the roles they have been praccing to play since they got together as a team

actual dumb take

best part of it

hltv.org is vlr's big brother. It's a lot better when it comes to features than VLR, I don't know what these zoomers are yapping about in this thread.

Who says it’s the coach that comes up with the majority of strats? In many teams it’s the IGL himself mostly

Another daily thread about femboys.

Honestly how boring has this shit become

posted 7 months ago

They’ve been slandering him for years

Dude has consistently led teams to big events and created metas since SUMN FC days, even with the shit players he had back then that literally don’t even play anymore cause they’re crap

I see what you mean, fair point. Did you read the Wheel of Time? If yes, how do you rate how he handled the final three books?

posted 7 months ago

The speed at which Sanderson writes is fucking unbelievable. Absolute 1000 page bangers almost every year up until the last Stormlight Archives.

The last 3 books of Wheel of Time written by him are hands-down my favorite ending of any series ever.

posted 7 months ago

Unfortunately some of my favorite (fantasy) book series of all time are unfinished at this point
-Kingkiller Chronicles (Best prose in any book I've ever read)
-A song of ice and fire (political fantasy, gotta love it)
-The Gentleman Bastards (a band of genius thieves with gritty humor in a fantasy setting)
-Dawn of Wonder (coming of age story, first book had amazing potential, still no second)
-Stormlight Archives (reads like a train, fantasy on epic proportions. This one will definitely get finished cause it's Brandon Sanderson)

Some completed ones:
-Harry Potter (gotta state the obvious)
-Lord of the Rings (gotta state the obvious)
-Wheel of Time (long read but probably the BEST ending in a series I've ever read)
-Malazan Book of the Fallen (hard read, I'm on book 6 currently)
-The Farseer Trilogy and almost all of the related books (Beautiful prose, great story, actual page turner)
-The Lightbringer Series (series gets better with each book, reads at breakneck pace and has some good humor)
-Discworld (for some lighthearted reading)
-Mistborn (great story in typical Brandon Sanderson simplistic prose, great worldbuilding)
-The Fifth Season (mix of sci-fi and dystopia with fantasy)
-3 body problem (sci-fi)

Yes correct. It's jarring for multiple reasons:

  1. You get dropped in the middle of an ongoing story with shitloads of characters with absolutely 0 background knowledge. I'm in book 6 and still starting to figure some things out in book 1. It's not some series where "all will be revealed shortly"
  2. Shitloads of characters from shitloads of countries/factions/continents and even worlds
  3. The series has a lot of parallel types of worlds and does indeed shift timelines quite drastically (often something like 100,000 years at a time)
  4. Some parts are downright boring, then suddenly you're in a battle that's over in 5 pages. Other battles take like 200 pages.

It's a great series and I'm loving it, but you gotta REALLY get into it to continue reading. I finished Wheel of Time in its entirety (14 books) in like 8-9 months, and there's entire books that are downright boring and slow, but I'm probably a year and a half into Malazan and only on book 6. You can't just sit down and read a chapter at leisure. Gotta invest hardcore to even understand what's going on.

posted 7 months ago

As I said above - great series but absolutely terrible recommendation for someone just getting into fantasy. Way too dense and confusing at the start for someone who hasn't learned to power through that kind of stuff

posted 7 months ago

Currently on book 6 of Malazan Book fo the Fallen. You're really going to recommend this series to someone who "just got into reading"? Those books are a massive struggle to get through sometimes, nevermind being dropped in the middle of a world you have absolutely no knowledge of with no explanation.

Don't get me wrong, I'm loving the series so far, but it's absolutely not a recommendation for people who are just getting into fantasy

posted 7 months ago

What have you read by him, just curious? Sure his prose is mid at best, but it's the world building and storyline that gets you going

posted 7 months ago

jesus christ the disrespect

posted 7 months ago

Lmao literally 0% chance at crossplay.

Console won’t have a pro scene. Mobile might, but mobile won’t be a 1 to 1 port

posted 7 months ago

MrFaLiN for sure. After another look at the pictures, all of FUT looks fucking punchable honestly

Zyppan also super punchable

posted 7 months ago

Multiple reasons:

  1. Mechanically speaking (aim + movement), Valorant is quite a bit easier than CSGO, unless you're playing high mobility agents like Jett and Raze, which you typically don't see the old CS pros on
  2. Valorant has a lot of emphasis on gamesense and tactics/strategy on pro level, so the CS pros who have years upon years of experience are naturally going to last longer here since the impact of their gamesense is quite high

There is a lot of new talent, and you tend to see them on duelist roles, and you'll see a lot of IGLs that come from CSGO (ANGE1, Ethan, boaster, FNS, ScreaM). It makes a lot of sense.

posted 7 months ago

Coach has a massive say over who gets picked for a team.

And Ex6TenZ and ScreaM have been playing in teams together since like 2010, they really like playing together.

ScreaM hit his highest peaks in CSGO only when he was playing with Ex6 as well

posted 7 months ago

Honestly I'd just love to see ScreaM back online at this point. I hope he finds a spot on a team where he wants to be and has the motivation to reach his peak again, whether that's on M8, TL or anywhere else.

posted 7 months ago

I see your logic - Mistic has been working really well in the Liquid system though, I'm not sure they're ready to make significant changes there. If anything, Liquid is suffering with Enzo, and I would HATE to see ScreaM IGL-ing again. If someone else would be ready to step up as IGL, that could potentially work. I know nAts is getting a lot more vocal in Liquid.

posted 7 months ago

If you put him on Gentle Mates, who would he replace? TakaS I suppose? His stats have not been amazing and he plays duelist primarily. I would not change nataNk out. I do love the idea of seeing ScreaM work with Ex6TenZ once again. Great long relationship they've had since like 2010 if I'm not mistaken. Also the french comms thing works well for ScreaM

If you put him on Liquid, who would he replace? Keiko has been doing fairly well and seems the only 1 to 1 role swap. Doubt liquid would drop keiko

So out of the two only Gentle Mates seems a good fit. I don't see Liquid making changes to take ScreaM in

have you watched any pro games in the last 2 months?

posted 8 months ago

We've started to see odins in almost every match, the most boring thing to watch as a spectator, and one of the most boring things to happen in ranked.

I hate how someone can just spam people without any information and get kills without the ability of being traded at all.

In pro games on lotus, we just watch a guy spray through a wall for 20 seconds while enemies wait for 20 seconds while odins are being spammed.

Nerfing the damage per bullet or the mag size is probably the best thing they can do - maybe even both

posted 8 months ago

none of it is a curse, just bullshit gamblors hope for. It's either a defense or attacker sided map or you have teams that do better on a specific side.

e.g. Na'Vi just pops off on any attack side, no matter if they're 10-2 down on defense

Ange1 seems like the most obvious choice out of any player in vct

A controller that’s aggressive where its not a big throw if you die. Couldn’t be better for him
