South Korea is still the dominant force in league by a long mile.
LCK has won worlds 8 times.
LPL has won world 3 times.
Every time the LPL (china) has won worlds was with 2 korean imports.

Verno and Bonkar should be locked in.
Mitch has a good shot depending on which teams do a full rebuild.
I like skuba but NA is pretty stacked with controllers.
Reduxx too young.
Really sad to see what has happened with oxygen, liked a few of their rosters.
Seems very similar to what happened to the guard.
Early predictions:
Group A:
Group B:
Always hard to balance the groups.
I would say Group A is harder.
Crazy game.
Icy turned up on the last map.
Yeah, i've been underwhelmed with his performances this year.
In the guard's ascension run he was arguably their best player, now he's probably like 4th best on g2.
He's been flexing less this year as well.
Ultimately the team has been doing well so its not a big issue, although if trent could kick on they could probably be major contenders.
Nope thats heat score.
Concurrent viewership isnt publicly available.
Heat score is a combination of viewership, activity, donations, stream length.
It's very interesting.
Super strong site hits.
Curious to see how it performs going deeper into the event.
Didn't manage to catch the first map, so I don't know how differently Lev played against it compared to Vitality.
Veto wise the Lev matchup is very nice for trace.
With the maps Lev perma ban it allows for Trace to replicate the same map pool they had versus vitality.
Slightly worried about trace's map pool depth however their bind and ascent is nice.
Ascent in particular, really good macro.
💵 How much money Riot gives?
🔫 New Classic for VCT teams in 2025
💬 Riot comments on the changes
Recommend reading the article some pretty interesting stuff by sheep esports (anonimotum).
--
This was done by removing the content creation incentive program that each VCT team had.
Each team could earn up to 400k by reaching certain targets and goals in terms of content creation.
We will likely see the ramifications of these changes in the future seasons.
Haven and Lotus has been very good lately.
Moving towards a 7 map pool, allowing for a target ban.
Just need to improve on icebox and ascent.
Map pool is actually looking good.
Lack of british coaches.
Fnatic, Vitality, Heretics all have british coaches.
What about Giantx?
Added more russians and performed worse.
What a win from Heretics, getting the first seed from the group of death.
Incredible rounds from everyone.

That is a shocking move.
Must be something major that made falcons pull out.
Really liked the roster.
FNC > EDG
Vitality < FPX
TH > TE
FUT > BLG
When you do the match ups seed by seed, I would have emea on top.
Although it is a lot closer than I thought when coming into the event.
What? EDG have beaten prx this year.
FUT losing every single shower fight.
That was a frustrating watch and i'm not even a FUT fan.
The individual decision making from cned is so strange today.
He keeps putting himself in unfavourable scenarios.
BLG beat nrg twice at Champions 2023.
FPX beat fut at Masters Shanghai.
Reminds me of the sin prisa comp.
Sentinels on bind can get a lot of value if not dealt with correctly, especially cypher.
Gonna be an interesting watch.
Chinese coach of the year versus Emea coach of the year.
Fpx vs heretics always delivers, what a game.
In split 1 the change from purp0 to sayonara was almost seamless, they didn't lose a single game going forward and ended up winning the split.
Kpi just haven't looked as dominant as they did since that point.
Map pool changes didn't help, they had a strong split.
Maybe the roster just lost momentum after split 1 with the time gap and the other roster changes.
Not even close and kpi won 5 pistols.
Kpi aint been the same since split 1, they've been way less coordinated way more loose.
A vintage Elllement display.
Paper rex core of d4v41/f0rsaken/mindfreak have attended 10 international events together, the most of any currently active core in valorant.
This includes a 9 international event streak, the longest current active streak:
Reykjavik 2022 -> Copenhagen 2022 -> Champions 2022 -> Lock//in 2023 -> Tokyo 2023 -> Champions 2023 -> Madrid 2024 -> Shanghai 2024 -> Champions 2024.
This year's pacific ascension is going to be even more unpredictable because of the format.
If the rumours of what i've heard are true, the seeding will be based on how each region performed at last years ascension.
Having some teams only play 2 games is rough.
(though i need to watch old vods/rounds to have a better idea of each team)
nt sns tomorrows games are winnable. been playing well recently
The issue lies in the differing region quantity and geography.
Almost the entirety of the EMEA ascension tournament is played online, which would not be something that anyone in the americas/asia would want.
Wrong twitter account linked.

People really underestimate how good chronicle was at gambit.
His performances at international events were neck and neck with nAts.
His Masters berlin finals performance is one of the best finals performances of all time.
In fnatic he hasn't been able to stand out as much but that is because the starpower is so much higher.
Not to mention he is doing all of this as a flex.
Leo is better, although Hiro is closer to chronicle type player than he is to Leo.
Hiro wasn't a 1 for 1 replacement for Leo, chronicle has taken a lot of Leo's old roles on certain maps.
Interesting insight from elma in the post match.
Yeah seemed like some of the veto was down to them wanting more footage on maps they hadnt played as much.
Although it was sorta predicted that abyss would be lasted picked because vitality also perma bans it.
FNC have been struggling on icebox recently and vitality (although fnc had beaten them) have looked good on sunset.
Debatable.
Definitely trying some more stuff however with how fnatic did the map veto suggests they are trying to win in 3-4 maps.
Yeah, it's his only Champions appearance.
He's played at 4 international events, one in each year.
(Masters Berlin 2021, Champions 2022, Lock//in 2023, Masters Shanghai 2024)
Amount of champions appearances per player.
(assuming each team continues with the same starting 5, so players like Klaus wouldn't get another appearance)

Thoughts on xxif & mikee?
Underlying numbers are pretty good for both of them, as sentinels.
Time line:
Ascension play-ins: July 28th - July 31st
Ascension group stage: August 31st - September 4th
Ascension Playoffs: September 7th-15th
Changes:
Play-ins group stage games are now BO3s (instead of bo1s)
Reduction in LAN games, only the lower final and grand final will be played at the Riot Games Arena in Berlin.

Boostio is in a flowstate right now.
NGL it's so nice to see haven back in the pool, so many cool midround decisions possible.
The biggest strength of the reverse roster was it allowed EG to get practise that closely resembled what their next opponents were doing.
The eg reverse roster would copy the defaults and comps of the teams EG were set to play.
It makes sense, Leo should focus on recovering.
Hiro has been excellent and getting anderz back is another great pickup, he has incredible knowledge and philosophy especially when it comes to new maps. Although i don't think abyss plays into fnatic strengths as much as other maps do.
Also, i hope anderzz gets a full time role soon (either in fnc or another team) from what ive heard and seen seems like a great mind to have in the scene.
Nope, champions points will now be super close between 100t and g2.
Also they will now play g2/sen.
Although it is still quite likely they might make champs on the basis sen/lev/g2 all make top 3.
