Masters Shanghai and other events held on the chinese client will not have their in depth stats uploaded due to an unreleased api.
Every other tournament should already be updated afaik.

Happy with this change although I don't think it will have that big of an impact.
The most likely effect is that we will see one of geng/drx academy rosters in tier 2.
I cant see this impacting eu/americas at all.

Seems odd.
If they needed to replace Kpzet they could've tried their hand at someone else much sooner instead of waiting for jesse (who might have made ascension) to finish competing.

posted 3 months ago

Jesse was playing in the Play-ins though? So surely the preparation would not be at the same level?
I guess with the weight of ascension, teams will do anything to try and gain any marginal improvement to win.

Jesse is good, probably a slight upgrade, but I don't think this move moves the needle on Barca's ascension hopes that much.

Thank god Heretics pulled through and closed it out.
The amount of unlosable rounds they lost on icebox would've kept them up all night.
Miniboo played like a beast.

It's been an amazing year for heretics regardless of what happens now.

Changed the entire momentum of the game. (tbf drx also did a timeout but still)

posted 3 months ago

wow.

Can't give a player like mako 1v1s like that.

posted 3 months ago

I've never seen a team be able to do it so consistently well.

Overwatch league.

He has won more major trophies than any other igl.

Recently it's a coinflip each game on which FNC shows up.
The proper team playing fnatic, playing as a unit.
Or the other FNC where the players feel so disconnected from each other, so many instances of players trying to compensate and end up digging themselves deeper.

Throwing hiro under the bus, shameless.

posted 3 months ago

Nah it's pretty common on lotus, especially with the odin.
Tenz just managed to get huge value with the guardian.

posted 3 months ago

You simply cannot allow a team as good as sentinels that many opportunities.
I mean just look at how many man advantage that sentinels clutched out.

He won that/

With how this tournament has been going you really cant write anyone off.

posted 3 months ago

Twice in a row by tenz, that is devasting.

posted 3 months ago

Yeah, hes already 2nd place based on prize winnings.
Chronicle could overtake him if FNC outplaces LEV.

posted 3 months ago

And end the year with the tournament still going on?

posted 3 months ago

Last 3 days of Champions will be in a big arena which is the same way IEM cologne does it.

Lotus hasn't looked the same since Loud beat them at champs.
Then more weaknesses were exposed by KC.
It's still a good map but it is nowhere near as unbeatable as it was last year.

Haven has looked most comfortable for FNC as of late.
Wouldn't be surprised if they pick it first versus g2 and try to get lotus/abyss as a decider map.

1) this is incredibly disrespectful to the sport, to the viewers, to the opponents and to the tournament organisers and should not be allowed by RIOT in the first place to jump off like that to deny a round.
Maybe it is actually not allowed and if thats the case, FNC should be fined.
But if this is actually allowed or wasnt predicted by RIOT in the first place, thats on RIOT.
I spoke about this potential problem out loud on day 1 of Abyss release.

2) i understand that this negates TH of getting 1000 creds and 5 orbs for killing the FNC players
BUT i think this is literally trolling/throwing a round by FNC. In VALORANT every round is winnable, every round is doable and you just robbed your team off that chance.
Not only that, TH didnt have to use a single utility piece to win this round which saves shitton of cash, and didnt have to rebuy any shields.
If you wanted to troll this round, FNC, at least do it properly and jump off after your opponents planted, so you would waste more time and make them use util.

Blaming Jake Sin for orgs importing korean players is an odd choice.
Japan has a high level of imports because it has a high level of investment, they can attract good international players with good salaries.
All of the import rules and regulations are standard across the VCL leagues.

And you are getting annoyed at a region that has been completely outcasted by riot games throughout its lifetime finally getting some exposure into the t2 scene. Mongolia was stunted as a region because of how riot approached the nation, it only stayed alive due to strong efforts from the Mongolian esports community.

Besides, VCL japan is getting expanded with more teams.
Compared to SEA which has now merged 6 sub regions.

Valorant is a mental game after all, confidence is king.
Sentinels are playing very well, their trading has been excellent.
Changing some of their comps up has really benefitted them.

posted 3 months ago

Terrible map pool doesnt help.
Snoozeset is just not a fun map.

posted 3 months ago

They flipped a switch and are very good right now.
Zekken in particular has found his form again, which was so pivotal in their madrid win.

However that DRX game should've gone to 3 maps.
DRX really messed up round 24 on sunset, Buzz over swung and stunned his own team mate in the process resulting in them losing a 5v3.
Ngl, Sentinels probably would've taken icebox but it would've been interesting to see.

This was always going to be the worst matchup for Trace.
EDG will ban their best map (ascent) and EDG have experience playing versus Trace.

92 points: (Top 11%)
Group A: 36/40
Group B: 20/40
Group C: 18/40
Group D: 18/40

posted 3 months ago

Damn well done.
Playoffs is going to be the crazy part with 240 points available.
Gotta hope I can stay in the top 20%.

posted 3 months ago

How many points do you guys have right now?

I got 92 points, which is top 11%.
SEN beating GENG lost me 20 points (although id expect most people lost points there)

0 perfect picks left, although a few people got very close.

You can't have teams from the same group in the same side of the bracket.

posted 3 months ago

3 inter region matches lol.

DRX VS EDG
TH VS LEV

TRACE VS FNC
G2 VS SEN

It's time for mitch to return home.

posted 3 months ago

Sentinels played very well, punished almost every misstep that GENG made.
They used all the momentum they had built throughout the game perfectly.
Sacy back to his Champs 2022 form.

posted 3 months ago

Actually it wasn't that bad.
FUT vs PRX is just a terrible matchup for FUT.
Only map I would have them comfortable favourites would be ascent (which prx banned).
The rest of FUT's map pool is inconsistent at best, (all of their maps have a 50% or below winrate except from ascent and split).
They almost closed out sunset but it wasnt to be.

posted 3 months ago

Can't be losing rounds like this.
Mental crushers.

posted 3 months ago

FUT this map veto is ballsy.

This year is a huge success for talon, especially regarding expectations and budgets.
Qualifying for the biggest event of the year, integrating one of the most exciting domestic rookies.
Talon can build on this foundation to do even better next year.
Fr0st and the team have done well.

posted 3 months ago

Everyone on vitality stepping up today, a good team performance.
runneR looked very comfortable anchoring his site on sunset.
Kicks getting a 6k.
Cender having huge value in his ultimates.
Trexx & sayf great as always.

posted 3 months ago

wow

posted 3 months ago

Well it's JDGs fault they arent here because they lost to BLG in the playoffs.
Both BLG and JDG got a lot better domestically after roster changes.
Don't think either team would've got a win here.

posted 3 months ago

This is actually a scary opponent for fnatic.
Both teams have overlapping map pools.
The map veto is going to be very interesting.
