To have a cracked duelist on another role requires an even more cracked primary duelist lol. Marteen vs. Zekken, Derke, Demon1, T3xture, KK. Thought that would go without saying, but ig not.

Marteen isn't cracked enough unfortunately.

That one tournament was one of the best ever lol I think it's fair

I think the method to building a winning roster is transforming a former duelist player into another role, essentially having a team with two "duelist" players. If I was a t1 team right now, i'd be doing my best to get a n4rrate or another really good duelist player to put on a sentinel or flex type role. All the successful teams of the like past two years have followed this formula (Alfajer, Jawgemo, Tenz, Meteor, Smoggy). It seems converting a cracked duelist into a role player is the true method to success, and I don't see why more teams don't follow this approach (Yay is next!!!).

EDG farmed China and the rest of the world too

posted 5 months ago

Yeah, it'd be easier too since there's only 5 roles.

Aim and confidence. Everything else can be taught.

Nah that is pretty regular of learning any new language. Your brain isn't used to processing the spoken language and auto translating it in your mind. The more conversations you have in Spanish, the more automatic it will become in your mind and then you'll be fine.

How much he's worth vs how much he costs is different. He is definitely more valuable than yay considering he's one of the most successful IGLs we have right now. However, Yay's bleed contract is pretty insane, so he costs a lot more to buyout.

I think the ghost gaming roster would be pretty good today, but that NRG team probably would be #1. All the players except Hazed are like top 5 in their roles right now.

posted 5 months ago

prodigy is a bit much, but he definitely was one of the best initiators. Was in that convo with crashies/stax/sacy, albeit everyone probably had him 4th between those guys.

I can't be the only one who believes some characters in this game have bigger hitboxes/easier to kill than others, idc what the devs say. Like I swear Breach/Brim/Sova are way easier to kill than jett/astra/chamber. It genuinely looks like their body is bigger.

The real scorched Earth is coming my friend, this is just the beginning.

I think cell references would work. For example, You would just have to layout the team skill ratings at the beginning, then put the formula into the adjacent cell to whatever matchup is happening. It would be very simple if you laid out all teams ratings and all matchups once the schedule is released. Just put the two teams rating cells minus each other * .10 as a formula next to all the matchups. Updating the team rating after every matchup would be the only time consuming part I think.

Awesome idea honestly, I would expand on the team skill differential mentioned at the end, where as the extra points added/deducted for beating/losing to a team better than you is a percentage of that team's ranking points. Like if Loud beats furia, and let's say Loud had 500 ranking pts and furia 350 at the time, you could subtract like 10% of the difference between the teams ranking pts since Loud should beat furia. So instead of furia losing 100, they would only lose 85. Other than that, I think this would be a really great system.

I know previously there haven't been any GC players to really get a shot at getting into T1 play (except maybe meL), but with the abundance of t2 talent and even more limited slots in the upper level of valorant, will there ever be a GC player that plays in franchising?

posted 5 months ago

idk about that, definitely thought they'd at least make it out groups.

posted 5 months ago

Can't imagine how it feels to win 30+ matches in a row just to get grouped when it matters most.

Glad someone mentioned this, this is literally how Optic was good in 22', you have to put your best aimer in good probability gunfights as often as possible. I think Fnatic's Haven comp is a good example, having a player like Alfajer just follow up the entry + shield, I think it could work very well. Defense half would be tough though.

Does anybody know why the 18 yr old rule even is in place to begin with?

All these seemingly dumbfounding roster changes are pretty obviously influenced by what I am dubbing the Heretics effect. Dropping seasoned pros who've been competing since the start of VCT no matter what the name value is, and what is going to happen is they're going to be replaced by young upcoming talent. The issue I hold with this is what heretics did is not the same as what these teams are trying to do. They essentially picked up 4 brand new players (Benjy played like 2 series). This allows for growth and the molding of the players into whatever system is envisioned, and it's less stress on the new players as they're all learning together. Not to mention the player quality I don't think can be replicated across the board, like how many more riens and woot's can realistically be out there. These teams dropping 1 or 2 players for tier 2 talent won't be as successful imo as the ones replacing 3, 4, or 5.

Depends if utility is intended to not activate the wall or if it's a bug. If it's intended like that, then I can see two duelists being brought back. If it is a bug, I think we're gonna see a lot more yoru.

600 on Brim is insane lol

Number of multikills are recorded, under performance on any match you can see how many 2ks-5k's players had. Can also see 1vX's and such. Can't see round by round play though.

No one in that series has more than 400?

Stumbled across this, is 548 ACS in a single game the highest? I don't think i've ever seen 500 acs in a pro match before.

Ehh, it's best not to get caught up in stats like HSP. Just run DM's with the goal of keeping your crosshair head level and focus on controlling your mechanics instead of winning, and you'll build confidence I think. It's all about practicing good habits at the end of the day

I might be demon1 then idk. HS% is sort of meaningless though in the grand scheme of things tho

posted 5 months ago

No I mean like the regular practice bots, Not the easy/medium/hard. I would just spawn them in and track their head for like 2-3 minutes then turn it off and visualize head level while doing the same thing. Eventually you get to the point where you clear angles and you don't even have to think about if your crosshair is head level anymore.

posted 5 months ago

Aim for the head pretty much lol. What helped me get mine around 35-40% is going into the range and continously spawning bots in and out to sort of get a visualization of where your crosshair needs to be at for headshots. Do that enough and it'll become instinct where your crosshair should be.

They're gonna win another one next season too watch.

Dumbass structure essentially forces orgs to fold if they aren't the one team to ascend. For example, OXG will 100% get their roster picked apart this offseason, leading to a forced rebuild, and knowing what tier 2 expenses look like, who knows if the org will even want to commit to that. Potentially one less team in tier 2. The cycle will continue, as any teams that don't win ascension but have players that will get poached will eventually be forced to rebuild or leave challengers. Guarantee the same thing will happen with m80 if they lose ascension, it's honestly a shitshow. Only a couple years from now the tier 2 scene will just be premier players playing for free, and the viewership/sponsors/etc. will be nonexistent.

EDG, watching the 2022 East Asia LCQ. I remember staying up one night to watch their game vs Northeption, second map went like 40 rounds. I saw the way they played, and it reminded me a lot of PRX. And KK's player cams used to be hilarious, he'd just be screaming at the camera lmao. Really happy to see how far they've come since then.

posted 5 months ago

Nah, Nats v. Chichoo matchup would be fire.

posted 5 months ago

One matchup of any teams from any year? Personally, i'd want to see 2023 Fnatic vs 2022 Optic or 2024 Champs EDG vs 2022 Champs LOUD.

posted 5 months ago

Placements can be a good indication of regional skill. But like I said, it shouldn't be the only or main factor. As to why FPX doesn't get to playoffs, that's something within their team that can be answered, could be any type of team related reason. Doesn't change the fact that they were competitive this year, even if they didn't make it past group stages. And in reality, look at who they had to face this year at events. 4/7 of their international matches were vs. Heretics/GenG/Sentinels. 2 EVENT WINNERS and a back-to-back grand finalist. other three, they beat FUT, and lost at Madrid to LOUD and KC, who were in form at the time. Not many teams in the world would have done much better given those matches. Bottom line is all the regions have multiple good teams.

posted 5 months ago

EMEA has a total of 2 wins in playoffs the whole year if you take Heretics away, and one of the wins was two EMEA teams against each other lmao. You can't just use placements as the be all end all of how good teams were, that's my whole point. If you want to use international playoffs wins as the metric of how good a league is, then Americas is the only good league. That's just stupid logic.

posted 5 months ago

then you could say the same about every other region except Americas. TH and GenG/PRX have been the only teams from their regions to get deep into internationals? What's different between them and China according to your logic? I agree that the Chinese league has a wider margin between the top and bottom compared to the other leagues, but to act like there is only one team that is noteworthy from the region when we saw the third seed upset Vitality and Lev back to back, and FPX have super close games with some top teams this year is disingenuous.

posted 5 months ago

idk how making playoffs and losing = bombing out? at that point if you're not top 4 then you bombed out? Sen didn't even make Shanghai

posted 5 months ago

Can't use regional titles for the other teams then? Every region has bad teams and good teams lol, Trace and FPX hung with the rest of the world.

posted 5 months ago

How is champs winners, 3 regional titles, and qualifying for all 3 internationals not top 3...?
