TBF, relative to the age of VCT, he's not wrong. 2 trophies in 4 years, Multiple regional titles, multiple records. Tenz is in the top 5 pure accomplishments alone, not even factoring in popularity. Once you include that, it makes sense though. Obviously can't compare to faker literally due to career length, but relatively it's a good comparison.

Riot moves different when it comes to homebase my boy, having a Chinese team on top of the game is like a borderline national achievement.

posted 4 months ago

Yeah, it's messed up honestly, There is just no way to make a franchised system work otherwise though. Ideally we would have stuck with the open circuit format and teams that did well would receive benefits outside of placement earnings. Tier 2 will one day just completely be ranked players forming premier teams.

Either sato masterclass incoming or m80 wipe them 2-0. No in between.

You realize there's more to building a roster than just "wanting" the player lol. Jawgemo is in a contract, so it's not as simple as a free agent signing would be.

Best in the world and hasn't played it once lol. Glazing the shit outta him ngl.

Util usage is easier to learn/get better at. Cant teach insane mechanics.

posted 4 months ago

Could see that, still curious to see what they do on raze/non-jett maps though, that was like their whole issue last year.

posted 4 months ago

Lol they better be top 4. I think they'll struggle for a little though considering they have the most mechanically weak player in the league. Strategy/game knowledge has improved across the entire scene as well, so don't think the calling will be as good as previous. We'll see though.

FNS, Som, Ethan, Verno, Demon1

That's a squad ngl, should be at the top of Americas next year.

That's just what they said. He was in the middle of nowhere on a ranch... supposedly in Wyoming. No way to confirm, no common landmarks, no nothing, just random land and word of mouth. Don't fall for the propaganda.

I'm from America, this flag is just sick lol.

Can't tell me that states like Montana and Wyoming actually exist. Never met a single person from these places and can't name one thing that goes on over there. Like what is Montana known for? They exist solely to bring the total state count to an even 50, the government doesn't want us to know this though.

PSG has teams as a part of a collab with Talon.

I know most esports orgs operate at a loss, but what exactly brings revenue in from their team? Like EDG just got a million dollars from champs, and I'm assuming that's split between the team and the org however which way. But is earnings actually the only form of revenue they make off teams? I guess bundles just got included, but what about esports with no in game team related purchases? I'm struggling to see the financial reasoning for supporting a valorant team; how sustainable is the current model?

Think These two are the best roles in terms of quality so who wins between these teams:

Duelist: Sentinels:
T3xture Less
Aspas Alfajer
Zmjjkk Benjyfishy
Zekken Meteor
MiniBoo Chichoo

Worst part is this is only map 1 lol, whoever wins this wins the series basically.

Firing one twin brother to hire the other would be nasty work.

posted 4 months ago

Didn't really consider this, but it is actually a good point. the mechanical gap at the top level isn't all that different, so it could just be the fact they have more opportunities to showcase it.

posted 4 months ago

Him and Alfajer were the first people who I thought of actually.

posted 4 months ago

I've thought about it, and I wonder why more teams don't put some of their less mechanically sound players on duelist. I understand the duelist characters take the most fights and have util designed to get kills, but at the professional level where utility is perfect from teams, most of the time the duelist doesn't even get a real fair shot at a fight in a round, it's more about just creating the space and keeping it/staying alive or trying to take engagements early on defense to bait util. So logically, why not essentially follow the TH method and use your duelist as a human drone? Then have your better mechanical players trade out. Maybe there's something I'm missing here. I'd much rather have my star playing sentinel where they are responsible for winning lurk 1vX's, trading, and holding a side of the map by themselves.

I'll agree, i'm not hear to say KK was the best player throughout the whole tournament, and if we were awarding an mvp based on full tournament, treating all games equally, I'd give it to chichoo. But there is a reason they wait till after GF's to award the MVP, because everyone voting and everyone watching knows that game is more important than all the others. The fact KK played like that in one of the closest series all year, meaning had he played even a tad bit less out of his mind, they would have lost... if that doesn't warrant an MVP than idk lol. That's all I'll say on this, I appreciate the good debate though.

posted 4 months ago

Just underplaying the performance, it wasn't just incredible, it was the best we've ever seen statistically (and optically, imo) and it happened in a grand final. There quite literally has never been another performance like that, so how exactly is it easier? Cause I can name like 5 great full tournaments from players just this year.

posted 4 months ago

I can agree to that, but the gap between KK and everyone else in that server during the BIGGEST match of the year was too wide for him to not be mvp, especially since he played well up until that point. I believe if he didn't break records, Chichoo would have won mvp and it would have been rightfully so. But a performance like that has to be acknowledged, he was +40 like cmon. Idc what anyone says, playing like that in GF is more important when considering an mvp than being good across a whole tournament. This whole thread is downplaying it, we literally haven't seen anything like that before, and even if he was shit all tournament, if he played like that again he would still deserve mvp. S/O Chichoo and Smoggy tho lol

posted 4 months ago

not MVP'ing a series does not equal playing like shit, nor does a 1 rating or whatever lol. If you watch the games, he solo won them rounds, and most importantly fulfilled his role of entrying, led the tournament in first kills per round and total. If you think he played bad outside of the GF, then you don't know what you're watching simply put. He had like a B grade tournament, and then an A+ GF.

posted 4 months ago

I mean kangkang played well the entire tournament, and then had the greatest single performance ever in the biggest moment. It's ok to acknowledge the other player's performances as well, as they deserve the credit, but to act like KK only performed in the GF is wrong. He had a good tournament even excluding the GF, that was just the icing on the cake.

posted 4 months ago

Ofc they deserve it if they win, winning ascension is very difficult. I just think having special/talented players on mid tier teams is sad, especially cause they could miss out on maximizing their career/potential in terms of accolades.

posted 4 months ago

Didn't even realize that, that's cooked. Surely if they win Riot grants some sort of pass, otherwise what's even the point of allowing them to compete?

posted 4 months ago

Hoping PCIFIC can beat them somehow, not trying to see washed t1 pros get carried to an 8th place league finish by young talent. Need kaajak's career to be saved before it starts.

posted 4 months ago

It is pretty terrible lol, They're trolling him cause they played with the same team and only one had success as well as his previous things said about yay.

NGL, it's all dependent on metabolism unfortunately. I'm fairly skinny, and I can eat 2500+ cals a day and not gain anything, but sub 2000 and I usually drop a couple pounds over time.

posted 4 months ago

To have a cracked duelist on another role requires an even more cracked primary duelist lol. Marteen vs. Zekken, Derke, Demon1, T3xture, KK. Thought that would go without saying, but ig not.

posted 4 months ago

Marteen isn't cracked enough unfortunately.

posted 4 months ago

That one tournament was one of the best ever lol I think it's fair

posted 4 months ago

I think the method to building a winning roster is transforming a former duelist player into another role, essentially having a team with two "duelist" players. If I was a t1 team right now, i'd be doing my best to get a n4rrate or another really good duelist player to put on a sentinel or flex type role. All the successful teams of the like past two years have followed this formula (Alfajer, Jawgemo, Tenz, Meteor, Smoggy). It seems converting a cracked duelist into a role player is the true method to success, and I don't see why more teams don't follow this approach (Yay is next!!!).

posted 4 months ago

EDG farmed China and the rest of the world too

posted 4 months ago

Yeah, it'd be easier too since there's only 5 roles.

Nah that is pretty regular of learning any new language. Your brain isn't used to processing the spoken language and auto translating it in your mind. The more conversations you have in Spanish, the more automatic it will become in your mind and then you'll be fine.

How much he's worth vs how much he costs is different. He is definitely more valuable than yay considering he's one of the most successful IGLs we have right now. However, Yay's bleed contract is pretty insane, so he costs a lot more to buyout.

I think the ghost gaming roster would be pretty good today, but that NRG team probably would be #1. All the players except Hazed are like top 5 in their roles right now.
