he was/is an insanely good player
so people take his past performances on the most consistent team in 2022 and assume he will preform the exact same on a completely different roster

we wont know whether or not he will till he gets to play
and no marved wont magically save the roster, but its one of the changes that could potentially improve the roster

I personally would prefer sticking with a 5 man roster and letting them get synergy + work roles out, but there is a point to be made about having one of the best players of last year just sitting on your bench

posted about a year ago

its not even that theyre preforming bad
they almost 2-0d flipping Lev - yes the end result is that they lost, but thats at least a decent look

The only realistic reason to change your coach this early on imo is if they dont synch with the igl at all, but I really cant see that being the case here considering how long theyve been together on xset

posted about a year ago

I dont get it either. Maybe theyre giving the 2 subs way more in depth info on the anti-strat or something?
cause like neither of them have any hard lineups that would need them to swap constantly

posted about a year ago

well this game happened
idk how to rate t1 after this game

posted about a year ago

a bit of both really

if theres something to take away from this is that c9s roster has potential and mce did insane with the prep

no despite their goal to have an all french speaking roster, there is no regional rule for EMEA
(if anything teams are expected to mix as many countries as possible, since riot didnt try to spread out the orgs countries)

NA imports into EMEA are still super unlikely since salaries are just lower over here afaik
+ theres still a ton of talent in france, its just KC fcking their team up so bad

posted about a year ago

THEY CHANGED THEIR COMPPPPP
ITS HAPPENING
wild comp but its a change

posted about a year ago

BBL did a KC and changed nothing up after their last split game
people really struggling with this weekly format and the amount of anti teams can do

posted about a year ago

they have to look better now
you dont get more wakeup calls than they have; their coach has been able to come up with strats in the past so theres 0 way theyre running the exact same strats again... right? RIGHT?

looking forward to if they do

posted about a year ago

why tf would you remove the igl xD

posted about a year ago

yes they have a shot
their biggest problem is that they didnt change anything up (strat wise) the past weeks, which is why they got stomped SO hard

if they managed to fix that theyre a decent team at least... still at a huge disadvantage vs Vit but its doable on paper

look like ofc youre not wrong
but also.... -draken +draken buff is real

THE GUILD CUUUUUUURSE
ok a bit early in the tourney for it but still

rough watch atm, idek

posted about a year ago

thats why we're all here

posted about a year ago

well they are tbh
as much as we like to flame some of them, theyre mechanically gifted and the ones that keep at the grind stay at the top of t2 at the very least

posted about a year ago

he also joined the old g2 roster as an igl after Davidp left (though based on ardiis story time, idk if he ever ended up being igl)

posted about a year ago

yeee ik thats why I singled out keiko xD the others been around for a while

posted about a year ago

The whole Apeks roster tbh, but specifically https://www.vlr.gg/player/11494/keiko (19 - Polaris' best duelist-fragger atm)
On a similar note https://www.vlr.gg/player/21619/jugi - he was the highlight of fokus since he joined and hes kept up the level for a year now

https://www.vlr.gg/player/9583/nille - Dragged his team into Polaris (from Promo) in the first place and has been doing well since (was also a beast during his time on tundra) - currently teamless
https://www.vlr.gg/player/321/chiwawa - perma stuck in t2, hes been farming people with his cypher; main problem is that his other agents look a lot worse atm

currently struggling in DACH (just swapped this split so only 3 games), but was insane the 2 splits before https://www.vlr.gg/player/11134/kicks

posted about a year ago

eeeh wouldnt say that

BBL def dont deserve to be on the list since theyve looked good so far
TH are a bit of question mark atm so fair game
and KC is KC xD idk if theyll be able to turn it around this season

basically its pretty dang similar to americas in the sense that theres (currently) only 2 clear outliers (and its a bit early imo to judge how regions are stacked towards the top)

posted about a year ago

shame, they're the most strategic knowledgeable duo we have atm
at the same time people have been asking for a new casters at masters for a while now so I dont think its necessarily a bad thing; as long as its actually a new duo

get some apac casters already

posted about a year ago

id say Bazzi, but he's also been flexing a bit on his previous team so it makes sense for him to fill another role
and Monyet was also the duelist for onic and looked really good during his time with them

imo t3xture is still top 3 in the team, based on public results, so since the other 2 are looking really good on their new roles it makes sense to leave him on the jett

we dont have much data for international competition for any of the 5 jetts though so its hard to judge from the outside

posted about a year ago

Nille and Vorwenn leaving right after the season starts, with neither having offers from another org afaik, is rough

Another loss for polaris and def isnt gonna help with the stability issues the regions been having

posted about a year ago

dont try to bs us here :(
not having the highest acs in 1 out of 3 games as duelists = kick, thats the vlr rules

posted about a year ago

they saw KC getting memed on for their strats and wanted some attention too

posted about a year ago

no one tell em that you add sugar to your tomato sauce

posted about a year ago

at this point scream just isnt
whatever the reason is, the fact that scream consistently ends up in teams with no successful igls (mainly calling out the KC roster since hes the dedicated IGL there, whereas TL were playing hot potato with the role)

aim doesnt matter if its impossible to build a proper team around you (which KC supposedly is)

I just hope that Scream is open to playing with an IGL in the future.... just watch the current game... it hurts

posted about a year ago

and thats the first week where most watchparties didnt know it was happening
and its already an insane baseline for some of the vcls in terms of promotion

posted about a year ago

might be more exciting for a casual audience so would be something they can (and should) try down the line (assuming they have the staff to cut the highlights together since all the VCLs are all understaffed already xD)
I do prefer the current format IF they're able to consistently find/produce games as good as ff vs smb since this was a great showcase of t2 (and should lead to more new viewers compared to highlight videos imo)

posted about a year ago

ngl thought you meant polaris running their rebroadcast (almost) 24/7 to the 4 viewers xD

this is great tbh, an english cast to good t2 games which might have not gotten one otherwise (in this case at least) is something ive been hoping for for a while now

posted about a year ago

fair point actually

posted about a year ago

first game from KC, showing new ideas
its how for example DRX demolished c9 on icebox despite their comp having obvious weaknesses after you watched a vod (though this is a much worse case since KC changed up pretty much nothing)

BBL looked way way way way way way better today than whatever tf this was/is

posted about a year ago

im going mad watching this
they had such good ideas vs bbl, but theres nothing new and TH are all over em
AND PLEASE SOMEONE TEACH THEM HOW TO MATH

posted about a year ago

tbh this game felt like KC just wanted that free promotion from another sideshow video

series not over at least but gosh dang, scream buy fcking flashes against the double smoke

posted about a year ago

tactical loss, means theyre gonna win the rematch and qualify for tokyo
shame that Vit cut the barbarr cam short

posted about a year ago

but genuinely who do you change? yes theres vlrs favorite scapegoat, soulcas, but then youre just throwing more names at the problem instead of actually fixing it (since fragging just isnt a problem on this team)

unless you want to change redgar and pray for miracles that the team synergizes perfectly with whatever igl you drag out of t2 + have a higher/equal limit by masters, time is the only thing that can fix the glaring problems TL have atm
As a TL fan ya just gotta pray they figure it out soon

posted about a year ago

eeeeeh I would have loved to see him climb back into t1 eventually, but coaching def focuses on what his strength as an IGL was so I think its a good fit

posted about a year ago

nah he only coached them during the offseason^
and since the team did so well half of the players + coach got poached by the start of polaris (well or rather left so they could actually get paid cause polaris doesnt have orgs)

posted about a year ago

dont kid yourself Lothar is significantly more knowledgable than the general audience xD
its just the structure of the segment - pick 1 round that is representative of a major issue/factor -> explain it in a way that everyone can understand it
I can guarantee you lothar would love to go way more in depth if he got the chance to (and will if he vods reviews the game on stream at a later date), though I dont think that would work well on the main stream with his style of analysis

wolfen took that personally

I dont know how pearl gonna work out for their season
Clutches made it look way more one sided than it actually was, 6 clutches in 18 rounds (+ eco impact), so its not all doom and gloom
They looked like they had an understanding of how to play vs the Loud comp, so it's a good baseline to start from (assuming thats gonna end up being the meta in Pacific), but they weren't comfortable to react to what prx was doing yet (mainly the fact that they never changed anything to try and punish prx's midpressure)

Attack didnt look good imo

Basically I think they are passable, but not good, on pearl atm

posted about a year ago

gonna have to finish the series first, atm it (to me) looks more like prx doing well, rather than dfm being bad
the way prx deny b plants is similar to how we saw drx get stomped (twice) during lockIn (though they still overheat quite a bit)
(Scoreline is also very one sided due to clutches, it could easily be closer)

I'm interested if dfm have a protocol for stopping b site plants on pearl (vs a comp with so many flashes)

posted about a year ago

nah I doubt he's gonna be playing in officials anytime soon
Imo he's gonna be a player who needs a good while with the team so they can get him used to their protocols & style of playing
(I also don't know if they want to swap him or another player to the support role, since I don't think they'll need 3 duelists)

His firepower is insane so he's gonna be exciting once he's properly integrated

posted about a year ago

I really dont think ardiis is the kind of person to mind, so I wouldnt worry
funny af though

posted about a year ago

still early on so theres still time for people to hopefully figure out a good retake strat for b
but ye its quite something atm

(liquid analyst) bacon posted the stats on loud and drxs B Postplans on pearl in sliggys chat:
"loud and drx 67 and 71 win percent in postplant B respectively"
basically its reeeeeealy hard to retake b
