1: OpTic grouped
2: Liquid go far (top 4)
3: Zeta division wins a match
4: G2 win because FPX gone
5: Guard get 5/6th due to lack of experience
6: prx beats drx
problem is even if they're good right now every other team is good or great so like just unlucky. That literally most if not all of the other teams are world class
With Liquid looking shaky, Fnatic losing Brave and G2 not having their coach, this is probably the most open masters so far with no clear favourites.I think the likes of LOUD, DRX and KRU from the minor regions have a great chance of winning it all apart from the NA teams of course.
the problem is not that he is russian, the problem is that if you are russian who is living in russia or/and you don't have visa then you can't go to Iceland. Pipson doesn't have those problems
Hot takes:
At least one emea team gets grouped
Loud makes it much further than people expect (maybe even top 4)
PRX dont do very well (in death group)
DRX do very well due to their Lan exp
I agree with this except for Prx, I'm pretty sure since they are apac champs they skip groups anyway and they're pretty insane. As for emea getting grouped if that happens I bet it'll be to Xerxia like with Envy.
eu eliminated in semis
SEA (paper rex) vs SA (south america) finals
NA eliminated in quaters
honestly last 6 months , a lot has changed , fast paced omen meta (favouring SEA ) , chamber coming into play a lot more , a more aim based meta rather .
EMEA eliminated in semis (just two of them qualify, 1 team from EMEA will be eliminated in groups)
NA eliminated in quarters
South America vs Korea in grand finals
NA vs. EU in playoffs
BR vs. LATAM in playoffs
KR vs. SEA in playoffs
my own hot takes
na teams don progress through the first rounds of knockouts again
apac/latam/br teams provide upsets
zeta still goes out without a win
xerxia best optic again
EMEA and NA do it the same role than the past year, Latam and SEA continue with the performance of Masters. Maybe KR can do the role that they do in the Masters 2 2021, and upset from BR and JPN.
I feel Japan, Korea, sea might go away with the title cuz they are looking strong, but i doubt about br/latam teams that there competition isn't that high which makes me think that can they dominate the international scene like they do in there region
Idk I feel like Eu is still ahead of other regions but we ll see. Im not sure if any APAC teams are top 5 entering the tournament. We ll just have to find out how it goes but there is a lot of upset potential.
