VCC is not VCT, it is just a qualifier to participate in VCT. Get your facts right. Also, Riot games rulings are very different from what Nodwin Gaming rulings are.
Basically, Riot has totally outsourced the responsibility of conducting tournaments in South Asia to Nodwin. From what I remember, even the prize money of VCC the previous year was arranged by Nodwin themselves and not by Riot. You cannot call VCC even a first-party tournament, just a "qualifier" to play in VCT. This is not just the case for SA though, in NA, Nerd Streed Gaming also does the same.
they use the same rulebook dipshit. nodwin, nerdst are just local TO's. anything that qualifies to champions is vct, hence the champions tour. shit like nerd st. winter champs even follow the same rule when they dont feed into the vct, you think the official southasian quals wont?
you cant be contracted to an org who is playing in the tourney and play in another unrelated team who might encounter the org in question. that is a blatant conflict of interest. what the fuck rulings are you talking about, the competitive integrity of the scene is to be upheld by everyone not just major regions.
If that is the case, please send an official mail to Nodwin and get mw1 and VLT penalized.
You are acting as if mw1 is a nonamer and people from Nodwin definitely did not notice one of SA's best players playing illegally in a tournament.
VCC rules clearly state -
Players may not play for, or contract with, more than one Team at a time. If a player enters into such an arrangement or contract, VCC Officials reserve the right to bar the player from playing any future matches until the situation has been resolved and the player is in compliance with the requirements in this Section.
mw1 is contracted ONLY WITH VLT. chilling with friends is not an organization.
mw1 is playing ONLY FOR chilling with friends.
He, therefore, abides by the contract rule for VCC. Notice the "or" in "play for, or contract with,". The rules address playing in a team and being contracted to an org as two separate things. He does not break either of them.
This very naturally is a loophole and I am not claiming otherwise. The right to enforce this lies solely with Nodwin Gaming. If they choose not too, then either it is not an issue at all or the player does not break any rules.
I mean dude let's be serious mw1 was featured in nearly half of the thumbnails in the previous VCC's live streams. There is no way he would get away with something like this.
mw1 is playing with ChillinWIthFriends (note "play for") and (apparently) in contract with VLT (which is a team playing in VCC). those are two different thing that he cannot do at once. VLT and Chillinwithfriends are more than one team.
if u wanna get serious this is basic 2nd grader logic, the conflict of interest is undeniable. they were 1 match away from meeting VLT and mw1 could potentially throw for the org which pays his bills. even outside of the rulebook how does this uphold the competitive integrity of the scene? you think southasia should be subject to different rules than na/emea? the world already thinks of forsaken when india's name comes up in esports, this is not gonna help that one bit.
1) Stop trying to defend your flawed interpretation of this rule. As I said before, if you think you are right why not complain to nodwin about it? If he did break the rules then he should be punished, no doubt about it.
2) Calling it a 2nd grader logic does not invalidate a point. Do you know any reasons why nodwin does not take action? I repeat, there is no way Nodwin does not know that mw1 is a part of VLT and playing from a different team.
3) You yourself claim that SA and NA/EMEA has the same rules and now asking if SA is to be subject to different rules. I don't care if we are using the same rules as NA/EMEA. I couldn't care less.
My original point was not if competitive integrity is maintained or not. I just stated if mw1 broke a rule and as it seems, there is a loophole that he can use and get away with it.
Lastly, Forsaken is not the first nor the last cheater in esports. There have already been multiple cases of cheating already in SEA valorant scene, NA valo scene and the Turkish scene as well (I bet there are others as well). I don't really care if the world acts as if Forsaken was the only cheater in esports and you should come out of that mentality as well. He just became a meme which was quite funny for the world and honestly unfortunate for India's esports scene.
How does mw1 playing in a tournament and Forsaken even come in the same thread? What is this some sort of fetish of yours to include Forsaken in every damn convo you have about esports online?
Stop beating around the bushes and come face to the facts.
Seriously what are you high on?
