The roster comes after many former FaZe Clan members departed in November, including Hunter "Inspire" Schline, Corey "corey" Nigra, Shane "Rawkus" Flaherty, and Zachary "ZachaREEE" Lombardo to the team's bench. At the beginning of the month, a report from Dot Esports surfaced detailing who would represent FaZe in the upcoming year of VCT competition. Among the notable candidates to join the team at the time were Andrew "ShoT_UP" Orlowski and player Quan "dicey" Tran.

Rounding out the new FaZe roster are former Teal Seam Teal Seam Inactive renz Austin Dickman furbsa Hunter Mcmillan Jonaaa6 Jonard Penaflor d1msumboi Erik Almhjell Cade3k Cade Warren members Xavier "flyuh" Carlson and Chris "LarryBanks" Doyi, who were also mentioned in the Dot Esports preview at the beginning of the month. Though they may be leaving their teammates behind, the rest of Teal Seam— bones , Binh "Yoshii" Nguyen, and Cade "Cade3k" Warren—are set to become FaZe Clan's academy team following discussions that began in mid-December.

The open qualifiers for Stage 1 Challengers North America are set to begin tomorrow, January 27.
