G2 Esports G2 Esports Inactive has benched Oscar "Mixwell" Cañellas, the last remaining player of the team's original lineup.

Mixwell was part of G2's founding roster that dominated the European scene in the latter half of 2020. But the team began to struggle in the new year, leading to a series of roster moves—all of which Mixwell survived.

However, the addition of Cista "keloqz" Wassim prior to the start of Stage 3 shifted Mixwell from Duelist to Flex, a role which he has fulfilled until the start of 2022.

Mixwell returned to the Duelist mantle in the 2022 Challengers 1 closed qualifier, but G2 exited early after consecutive losses to Team Vitality Team Vitality Europe Rank #5 trexx Nikita Cherednichenko Derke Nikita Sirmitev Kicks Kimmie Laasner Sayf Saif Jibraeel Less Felipe de Loyola Basso and Alliance Alliance Inactive . keloqz returned in place of Mixwell for Challengers 2, where the team ultimately qualified for EMEA's Stage 1 Challenger event.

If you watch the whole trash EU Qualifier again you will see all the enemies G2 has was absolute no brainers or they gave them what they wanted like overpeeking and feeding a lot. Good Luck against Team who make you come to them and not the other way. Can't wait to see who they will blame next if they get 0:13 again like Irons.

True. Nukkye-Hoody-Avova is an awesome core, specially if Nukye is willing to flex to sova as he does now.

Kellogs and meddo are good at their roles, but kellogs overpeaks to death and meddo has a very predictable gameplay. A dedicated IGL would do this team wonders.

G2 is so mean. They waited until the beginning of the season to make this move?? They only allowed him to play 1 day when they have new coach/analyst/players/roles in the team, it’s senseless. That’s unfair for Mixwell. This is not about the discussion if Mixwell is better Jett than Kelloqz or not, it is about G2 could have bench him weeks ago but now there are not spaces left in any EMEA teams (maybe Heretics since al0rante left yesterday but idk). Mixwell has to be willing to move to NA, yes, he has his family and girlfriend in Spain but I don’t see options in EMEA in the short term.

Can you tell me how he failed? He had similar stats than Kadavra in the Vitality match and he was the best in G2 in the Alliance match that day. So how did he fail? And I’m not talking about his Jett, as I say, they’re beginning with new coach, teammates and roles and with those stats you say he failed? He did not have a bad day to be benched. G2 knew they prefered Kelloqz more so they should have benched Mixwell weeks ago

Because they were scared to loose both IGL and Captain at the same time. Mixwell was the only one who could IGL in this roster. And Keloqz and Nukkye didn't get along. So Jett was open and Mixwell was so desperate to play Jett again. So they gave him the chance to play again and he showed he was so far behind as a Jett compared to Keloqz and IGLing.(Not talking about kills but there was clearly a Jett diff in their 1st day)

Most guys shitting on him are trolls. However it is true that his potential streaming is large enough that any money he makes in pro play is little in comparison, barring a champions run with a nicely selling skin. Anywhere he goes he should be able to stream more and be under less pressure than his last 6 months in g2.
