Does Valorant actually have a high skill ceiling?

I’ve been thinking about this for a while—does Valorant actually have a high skill ceiling, or does it just feel that way because of its ranking system?

Compared to other tactical shooters, the game has a lot of mechanics that seem to lower the skill gap. For example, movement is pretty limited, and the spray patterns are less punishing than in CS. Plus, abilities can sometimes let you win fights even if your raw aim isn’t the best.

I’m not saying the game is "easy," but I do wonder if the skill ceiling is as high as people claim. What do you guys think?

real because the only reason sen won a trophy was because they mindlessly sprayed through smokes and wallbanged.

I think it's unfair to assess VALORANT in terms of the CS series or other hero-shooters like OW/OW2 or even Apex, since VALORANT has just started down its "longevity" route as a video game compared to these games. CS franchise was released in 2000, Quake in 1996, OW in 2016, R6 in 2015, and Apex in 2019. (these are merely examples of tac-shooters, hero-shooters, and high-movement shooters)

refer to LoL, yet another product by Riot Games that has made it big. The meta has shifted unbelievably (one that I can think of recently is lane-switching that pros do, might not be viable anymore) despite being released in 2009 amidst great waves of popularity. VALORANT being under Riot Games and receiving way more frequent updates that any aforementioned games above makes me inclined to think that the skill ceiling will artificially be raised, if necessary, and will likely follow that trend nevertheless.

right now? no, not as high as other tac-shooters or MOBAs, since certain elements (like you briefed over) inhibit VALORANT from reaching such a ceiling.

They might low-key need vibe merchant in lol with how often the pros are mentally unstable towards the end of the year. Literally last worlds on from blg. If on was even as good as keria or delight blg would have won that worlds. But bro had to cry about how he can't play without xun.

On in his prime form is as good. It's just he is too inconsistent or very shaky mentally. It's just last year I don't the internal matters but bro was so unstable.

Because league is completely different from val??? you have completely different roles, top bottom mid lanes + jungle is basically the equivalent of 4 duelists/3 duelists + a lurk and then you have one support in league usually.

Now imagine that in valorant, every player needs to be good at getting kills if you just had 4 cracked duelists and then one support lmao.

valorant is a very high skilled game, go play animal crossing or something, you clearly just not good enough to understand the sheer level of gameplay that pros posess.

no valorant skill ceiling was never that high exactly because of the reasons u said, riot deliberately wanted to make this game more casual friendly at the cost of competitiveness

it has no skill ceiling

the only agent in the game that requires mastery and rewards high skill level is Yoru. nothing really requires that much skill to master/learn

Yes because it's four years after release and we're still seeing the best in the world make "stupid" mistakes every round because it's simply so much to keep track of and act upon in the moment.

It's evident in the way that people call G2 "perfect" valorant even though they (understandably) make so many misplays that are obvious even to viewers.

top players have like 1.5KD in radiant lobby so there is skill gap for sure
