it its typing, 2 hours focused section should be enough (I would recommend splitting to the time up, [30 minutes sessions each with at least an hour break doing something else] to maximise your focus and efficiency

if its hand written it might take upwards of 5 hours, but the method should be the same

This is raw writing time
If its a research paper you might need upwards to 20-30 hours of research

I got like 10 journal articles ready just have to read and extract the relevant info from each. tbh I have a 10% leeway so Im hoping to get like 4.5k words in by submission date

normally 3 hours are more than enough for 5000 words

depends on the topic ig, and how much you have to elaborate. A proper structure alone can easily allow you to grind hundreds of words, it's the easiest way to meet every requirement

I mean it depends on what this is for but I managed a 72 on a 4000 word econ degree essay this year in about 5 hours (1st year uni), I feel like if u actually lock in u can get it done way quicker than u think but once again depends on what it's for

thats rough to hear, I'm also in my final year although I do Journalism and chose do a final project instead of a diss

If it makes you feel any better, some of my coursemates who chose to do a diss still have 5000-6000 words left to write and also have placement days which they need to do, could always be worse

Just lock in for a week at the library, sucks but you really dont have an option and your degree is there for a lifetime, which is worth 1 rough week

Depends on the quality of work you want to achieve and also what type of work it is. If it needs a lot of research and making sure you are backing up everything you say with statistics, graphs or anything like that then it might take you quite a bit, but if it's something that you don't really need to research a lot then a week is plenty.

If it helps last semester I did an end of semester math essay in like 4 days counting research. It was 2000 words and a lot of the time spent wasn't even writing the essay itself, but rather the appendix at the end.

Yeah you should definitely be able to write it during that time. The hardest part will probably be finding resources and stuff, but thugging out over a 1000 words a day isn't hard at all.
