VCT worst format is always the next one

Instead of making a quarter-finals style where #1 seed for a group play the #4 seed of another, they decided give a bye to #1 seed and make #4 seed go directly to Lowers.

While this only removes 2 matches from the total, which doesnt free that much space in schedule ( and its not like teams play a lot), It makes so teams that get 1st Seed in groups can just win 1 match in playoffs and go to Masters Toronto.

Lets take EMEA as an example, suppose group Omega ends this way after resolving ties:

1.Liquid 3-2
2.KC 3-2
3.KOI 2-3
4.FUT 2-3
5.BBL 2-3
6.M8 2-3

Than at playoffs we have Fnatic #2 form Alpha against KOI #3 seed from OMEGA, KOI upsets, winners face Liquid #1 seed from OMEGA.

Liquid could make another event by beating KOI 2x, BBL and M8.

ps: assuming the playoff format is the same as americas

shoudve just made it the same as international format with the first matches being between #1 vs #4 seed and #2 vs #3 seed across groups

strange take, 4th seed going to lowers and 1 seed getting a BYE is good because it rewards good group play

it also means less "pointless" games later in the stage as teams want to not be caught in lowers with no chance already

as a further note, your logic to "disprove" the bracket is crazy. "wHaT if koI uPsEts anD tHeN TL GEt aN easY paTH tO QuaL?" like yeah, if a team that's "bad" upsets, this is gonna happen anyways, what's your point LMAO

Pairing the 1st seed with the 4th is enough to reward a good group stage.

And groups are already not balanced (and I cant think of a way they could be when we get so few matches) since you based them on Kickoff perfomance ( a tournament, where again, the bracket was based on a tournament 5 months prior, and in which some teams only faced 2-8 opponents out of 11 in their league).

this take is just bad, complaining for nothing.

groups are very balanced + fair, no one is complaining about this
the bye + 4th seed in lowers is a good format, it makes winning group stage meaningful, otherwise the last few weeks of group stage literally don't matter b/c 1st-4th seed is literally the same (the team you initially face barely matters)
the potential for an underdog run actually exists, it isn't the same boring quarter final format for both splits and international tournaments.

How can you say that groups are "very balanced" when there arent enough matches to assess the skill level of teams? Cloud9 lost to G2 and MIBR, they were on the same pot as 2G who lost to Furia NA and Kru. Lev was on the 5-6th pot, going 1-2 after defeating only Furia BR, and they skipped a match based on last years september performance.
The team you face does matter.
The format you defend actually makes it harder for an underdog run as they can only lose once if they go as 4th seed?

so this format is the same as a regular double elim with 1-4 seeds, except the 1st seeds are given an automatic win against 4th seeds. although i agree in your contrived example this may seem like a lot, usually 1st seed will have 2-3 more wins than 4th seed, so they sort of deserve the free win? i can easily come up with an example where fourth seed goes 1-4, and then only two wins (3-4 total) and they make masters, which seems just as bad as your example.

This format is far better of what you propose, they are no point of finish 1st except siding (that basically mean nothing, because sometime a lowerseed is better than another). With that format every place matter, so regular season matter, so thats perfect
